Orana Orana (The Carol Of The Birds) its an australian one!

Out on the plains the brolgas are dancing
Lifting their feet like war horses prancing
Up to the sun the woodlarks go winging
Faint in the dawn light echoes their singing
Orana! Orana! Orana to Christmas Day

Down where the tree ferns grow by the river
There where the waters sparkle and quiver
Deep in the gullies bell-birds are chiming
Softly and sweetly their lyric notes rhyming
Orana! Orana! Orana to Christmas Day

Friar birds sip the nectar of flowers
Currawongs chant in the wattle tree bowers
In the blue ranges lorikeets calling
Carols of bushbirds rising and falling
Orana! Orana! Orana to Christmas Day

In grade 5 we were taught ONLY Australia christmas carols, and this was my favourite one. I cant find the music anywhere now though which is a shame becuase it was nice.

    Boomerang of flowers
Music: Leigh Newton Words: Mary Philip & Leigh Newton 1983
A child is lying cradled here,
    Beneath the slender gum;
The god of might has left his home,
    And to Australia come.
    The kookaburra laughs with glee,
    The shy koala peeps,
    The magpie carols blissfully,
    As little Jesus sleeps

    Chorus

What shall we give our infant king?
    A boomerang of flowers?
To say come back and stay with us
    And be forever ours.
    (repeat)

One day a cross will hold him fast,
    And lest we should forget,
Above him in the sapphire sky
A cross of stars is set.
But there'll be no pain for today,
But peace and joy and love.
Beneath the slender gum he sleeps,
    And magpies sing above.

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen - all time fave! Then again, I also adore Ding Dong Merrily On High for the "gloria in excelsis deo" bit. "Gloria" is just three syllables though and in the song it really isn't. Love singing that, it beats "five gold rings" for bits in a song everyone just has to join in with when they hear.

Non-religious favourites include The Happiest Christmas Tree and Buon Natale (DS also loves these). Saviour's Day, Little Drummer Boy (Aled and Terry), Last Christmas, Driving Home For Christmas, Winter Wonderland... for the most part, I love them all! Ooooh, the 12 days of Christmas song that the chap who was Father Jack on Father Ted did - it's the thank you (or not) letters for all the gifts. Most amusing.

I'm currently singing O Little Town Of Bethlehem as a lullaby for DS too.
