    thanks cherished
I agree, purple & blue don't go! I don't have purple LED lights, multi coloured. There are some gorgeous silver stars out at the moment. I had silver & purple last year and thought of changing this year, but then everything I saw was purple & silver, so I kept it Might change next year though.

last year i did red and green, mainly for DH as it was his first year without his mum and they always did red and green, i have silver from the year before. so il probably do red and silver this year. my friend had bright blue last year and a black tree, i hated the sounds of it, but she made it look awesome!

I usually go blue & silver, but I'm loving the idea of having a lot of different colours and just choosing a different colour each year!

Normally I'm really anal about my tree and spend days doing ti and adjusting it to make sure it's just right. I usually go with red, green and gold decorations but this year it's compleletely different. I let the kids pick out the decorations in the shop and they went for multi colour and multi shapes and we let the kids decorate it (with our help of course). It has been so mismatched, unevenly decorated before but it is the best tree!!!!
The kids just loved decorating it and it was fabulous helping them. This year is by far our best tree!!!!

Ours is a green tree with sliver white and blues, love it!

I really want a black tree with antique gold, deep red and forest green as well though!

Last year was red and silver.

This year, in honour of our little boy, it will be blue and gold. I also use glass or clear plastic decorations to add sparkle near the lights. We won't put the tree up until after my birthday but I've already been buying decorations. I love the little birds you can clip to the branches.

I have to stop buying decorations and see what I already have packed away. Blue is hard to get, but I figure if there's not enough I'll just get some nice ribbon and make bows. I also have a couple of photo decorations with DS's photo in them.

I'm so excited as I just bought all new decorations on Saturday We have a 7ft, classic looking artificial tree and I'm decking it out in lime green and purple with a touch of silver (tinsel and the star on top). We have those groovy LED lights already and they looked great last year.

I can't wait to put it up. Might do it tonight actually!

I know from Myer you can buy the little wire hook things that go through the whole then hook onto the branches.

Must say girls all your trees sound fantastic. I have at present a multi coloured tree but I do like the idea of going through decorations and picking a theme. Will remember that for next year.

Yep, I bought all mine from Target on the weekend (40% off ) but couldn't believe they don't have any string! I'm going to get the little hooks though as I tied string to my old decorations when I first bought them and it took AGES

My gran always did a really classic awesome tree but my mum isn't a huge Christmas fan so always did a cheapy gritty bargain basement tree. So a few years ago I splashed out and bought a really nice 182cm black tree and we decorate with blue and silver ornaments and tinsel, blue LED star lights and a silver star for on top. I love having a "professional"-looking tree lol

I got some gold and silver twine from Spotlight. Go to the craft counter and explain what you want, they will know. That way I can make the hole as big as I need it to fit safely over a branch
