Oh, lucky lucky you! We were married in Fiji and so wanted to go to tokoriki it was just slightly out of our budget! We stayed at Sheraton on denarau (it has changed names now it was the royal denarau resort), and then went to mana island, This was in 2004 and i still wish i was there again!
We stayed at Shangri La on the coral coast last year, for 5 nights then went out to Botaira island resort in the Yasawa islands. Both excellent but very different. Botaira is more"basic" - not commercialised, small number of people and all staff knew our name.
We are going to send my in-laws for a week at the shangri-La, as a thankyou for all the stuff they have done for us
How long is the flight?
I've been invited to a wedding there in febuary. I want to go but I don't want to subject the boys to too long in a plane (especially since the poor little mite have a long haul flight in march). Maybe if the flight is too long we'll stay a bit longer than the weekend.
We had out honeymoon in Fiji, oohh love to be back there now!
We stayed at The Outrigger on the Lagoon and then went to Mana Island.
Dachlostar the flight from Sydney is around 4 hours. Depending on where the wedding is held the travel time from the airport to your resort can vary. If you are staying in the Coral coast, it's about a 2 hour bus trip. If it is on one of the islands you usually have to stay in Nadi over night and take a boat trip in the morning. This can up to 2 hours aswell depening on the island.
Fiji is a beautiful place ti visit. The people are all so relaxed and easy going. Most places are child friendly. I dont think a weekend would be long enough, you dont want to leave.
We are looking into going to Fiji straight after xmas for 7 days and it looks fantastic. Is the island itself easy to get around ie do you catch buses or would it be best to hire a car with the 2 little ones?
All the hotels look great, I dont know which one to choose! Any more recomendations??
