    Help getting to Sydney airport.

I Have to go pick up DH from the domestic Airport tomorrow & want to check how to get there. Last week it took me 2 hours to get home & I would like to avoid that if possible.

I asked Mum who said if I get on the M7 it will take me straight there. BUT Where is has me getting off the M7 then on to the M5 then a few other twists & turns before I am at the airport. Now I will be doing this at night with 3 kids. Isla is likely to cry most of the way. Well she will probably be ok for an hour but beyond that is pushing it for her.

So if you had to get to the airport how would you go? I am coming out from Richmond & Now I can get on the M7 at Dean Park (i think thats what its called)...

    Hi FionaJill -

I use to live out at Richmond, but that was before the M7 was around

If I had to go to the airport now, from Richmond, I would agree with your Mum and get on the M7 at Dean Park heading towards Liverpool which will lead you straight onto the M5 - continue towards the airport (just keep following the signs) and take the Marsh St Exit will will take you past the Airport Hilton on your left, then the international airport on your right - keep following the signs to the domestic airport on your right.

(whereis states that this will take you approx 52mins and just under 75kms.) I would still allow anything from 1hr-1.5hrs, depending on what time of night you are heading in (but at least you will be going against the traffic) and this would include allowing time for any traffic hold-ups.

    I agree.

Onto the M7 & then get off it at Liverpool where it connects with the M5. There are heaps of signs in the M5 as you get closer. You go into the tunnel & the exit is actual inside the tunnel, once out from the exit you go left & basically follow the signs!! I have no problems getting there, but always struggle getting back out of there.
