    Pre Baby Holiday WHERE??

Hi we are wanting to go away for around 1 week before we have the baby the question is where to go.

I will be between 31 and 32 weeks preg and live in melbourne! Will be going in May

My concerns are sitting on a plane for to long as i hate plane toilets!
Not wanting to go somewhere that all there is to do but walk to see pretty things as I think i will be to tired to want to walk to far.

    So suggestions please!!

OK, I think we need a few more clues.

Oversesas, interstate or within same state? How far are you prepared to go? And what do you enjoy doing? And how long are you thinking?

Happy to go interstet or stay in vic. Dont want overseas as i feel to risky to eat.

Not sure what we want to do normally when we are on holidays everyday is full on with activities but not sure if i will be up to that!

Opinions on people who have flowen at 31 or 32 weeks and if they found it to much?

I have thought of tassie bt al the things i still want to do there are walking etc.
    Perth lovely but long flight.
Whitsundays lovely but also long flight and may be to much effort!
Stay in vic and go down great ocean rd or up to Bright

    What have others done?

How about the barrier reef? You can do the glass bottom boat to the reef without walking and snorkelling/swimming is nice when you're preggers.
Cruising in the Whitsundays would be nice and you wouldn't have to do much walking.
How about a spa for some pampering?

Whitsundays is currently fav idea as we did that may 2006 for our honeymoon!!!
Had a lovely cruise out to reefworld and snorkled on the reef was soooo amazing!
Its just the flight length that i am concerned about

Maybe you could break the flight up with an over night stop in Brisbane or the Gold Coast....

I can't help you with idea on where to go, but QLD sounds great.

I flew from Adelaide to Sydney return the next day at 36+2. I have been told my belly isn't huge but I did notice the difference in lack of room. My elbow doesn't squish in at my side like it usually does and because I was by the window going over and DH in the middle taking up all the armrest I ended up feeling squashed. I should have/ could have spoken up but he was asleep. It wasn't too bad though and was only about 1.5-2hours. Coming back the flight attendants were great and asked me if I needed a pillow or anything, it was an all female crew whereas going over it was all male. I flew Qantas.

I didn't have any drams and if you can arrange a stop somewhere along the way you should be fine. Everyone is different and depends on how you carry etc.

Good luck in deciding where to go, and the plane flight can be done and isn't too bad.

Why don't you go to Vanuatu, heaps cheaper than the whitsunday's and it isn't a long flight. I can highly recommend it.

We went to Noosa when I was 33 weeks. It was nice but I wanted to walk around too much and on the flight home I had the worst pelvis pain and it was truly torturous. If I hadn't walked as much it probably wouldn't have been as bad.

Brrr- Cradle Mountain in May! It would be lovely though- they have open fires and it might snow

Otherwise I've seen some gorgeous places advertised on the GOR- nice room overlooking the water with a fire... mmm... relaxing!

My vote would be Tassie too. But I'm biased, I am in love with Tassie - infact, going there in about a month. I've been there about six times in the last three years and keep annoying all my girlfriends with far-fetched plans to move there and constantly looking at real estate sites.

Anyhow, you don't have to do heaps of walking - I'm happy pottering about in Hobart having great food overlooking the harbour. No-one would claim there is great shopping in Hobart but there's probably a few interesting shops in Salamanca. You could also indulge any preggy cravings with the Cadburys tour. Take a cruise on the Derwent. Spend a day at Port Arthur. Maybe mosey up to Strahan. Go on the railway thingy through the forest which is meant to be spectacular. Potter about in Richmond. The drive to Launceston is not too far either and I think Launceston is very pretty too. As is Freycinet of course. And Bicheno.

As I said, I'm biased and I've never been to the Whitsundays/Vanuatu but lying on a beach or by the pool in the heat when pregnant would not be my idea of fun. But I'm not a beach person at the best of times.

We did a pre baby trip to Ham. Island! When I was 31 weeks. It was just fantastic..we have been there a few times and love it. I think it's ideal when your preggers. Relaxing..nice resturants..perfect. We just sat by the pool mostly having mocktails. And went on a nice yacht cruise.
When we arrived there, we had been given a free upgrade to the 5 star resort!! Which included some of our meals! Great holiday.

    Have fun.
