    Somewhere to Holiday near Brisbane

We're looking for somewhere to go away for a weekend with the kids(5yrs, 15months) in the next few weeks.

We don't want to have to drive more than 3 hours (we're in brissy)

    any ideas?

    Hi there
I guess because it's cold you don't really want to go to the beach? I haven't been before, but i know there are some Farm Stays in Maleny - where the children get to feed the chooks, milk the cows etc. We're hoping to check them out one day.

I'm not from Brisbane but I love Noosa and the sunshine coast even in Winter.

I am about 5-7 hours depending on stops from Brisbane. So I guess anywhere near where I am would be to far especially for a weekend..

Maleny is nice from what I have heard.. Have fun!!

Let us know what you decide

Anywhere on the Sunshine Coast, or Rainbow Beach is nice - it's further north and sort of east of Gympie.

South of Brisbane there is, of course, the Gold Coast and then there is Tweed Heads and all the townships around there - that is a nice area too and not as busy and flashy as the Gold Coast.

I'd say Mount Tambourine... it's beautiful there!

MOunt Tamborine or Mapleton - both places have interesting things around them and are close to the beaches and shopping.
