We went to Uluru, Kings Canyon, Alice Springs in the middle of last year (not camping, we stayed at the resort). It was a great holiday for DD, who was then 18 months old. It wasn't very crowded (we didn't go in school holidays) and DD could run along all the paths, do most of the walks with us and loved having picnics everywhere! I wasn't expecting to enjoy the holiday nearly as much as I did, but it was just so relaxing being outside all the time, in the quiet, where DD could run around and collect rocks to her hearts content.
