That's standard practice, although I reckon that chances are at 7 months you'll be fine.
Make sure you take a spare set of clothes for you, as well as bubs, just in case.
With toys for the flight, put a couple of favourites away a few days beforehand so that it's exciting to see them again on the plane.
With jet lag the best thing you can do, which made a phenomenal difference for us, is get your little one out in the daylight at the beginning and end of the day to allow their body to adjust.
Good luck, you will be fine, I flew to the UK and back on my own with DD at 10 months and while the journey there was hard going the way back was an absolute breeze![]()
