Our faves were:

- Disneyland, Anaheim. So worth doing the original one If you want lots more rides, California Adventure Park is literally across the way. Plenty of great family hotels connected to the two parks.
- Universal Studios is a must too. Awesome for all ages. There isn't much else I'd recommend in LA though. It's a big, ugly concrete jungle IMO and the public transport sucks.
- New York is great fun. So much to see and do, once again, for all ages
- we've been to Vegas twice and loved it both times. I'd say there is plenty for families TBH and there is no shortage of families wandering the Strip - night and day There are lots of rides, shows, random attractions (like a lion enclosure inside The MGM Grand ), lots of family friendly restaurants and the casino hotels are amazing and a lot are well setup for families. It's one of those places that has to been seen to be believed.
- Grand Canyon - spectacular. It would be a shame to miss it
- Route 66 has some awesome parts if you feel like a road trip
- San Francisco is a fun city too. Fisherman's Warf is great for e whole family. Alcatraz is a really interesting place to visit too although probably a bit boring for the kids. The boat ride over is fun though and provides awesome views of the bay. The trams are so much fun in San Fran too. There is lots to see and do. It can be one chilly city though.
- if you're a nature lover, Yosemite NP is beautiful!!

We went to Niagra Falls too but think it's a bit overrated. It was an OK day trip from Toronto (Canada) but it's a long drive from NYC and I just don't think it's that great. The Maid of the Mist boat ride was good and the falls are impressive but the American side is SO tacky that it's completely ruined it's natural beauty.

Florida was teat fun and warm. We spent a week chilling in Miami. We didn't bother going to Orlando but you could check out Walt Disney World - it's meant to be awesome. We went to the Everglades for a day trip and that was brilliant.

I wish we'd gone to Chicago and Washington as well. We spent more time in LA last time (stayed in Beverly Hills) and it was OK but a bit of a waste - of time and money. We should have gone somewhere more interesting after Vegas on our second trip.

The States are awesome though. It completely exceeded our expectations and we'd happily go back again - and again!!
