Would you believe i have been skiing pretty much every year since i was about 2, I have always lived a good distance from the snow and getting there was a big job. This year we're living about an hour and half from Mt Buller and i haven't even seen the snow. Maybe we'll do a day trip in the next few weeks.... Have a wonderful time!

B'tide - get yourself up to Brissy and you're in! Plenty of room in my bag.
F'guni - I miss living in Melbs for the day trips! Pack the car Tuesday night, call in sick 6am Wednesday, burn on up there, ski a full day, home and tucked up in bed by 8. Definitely can't do that from Brissy.
Can't ski at all without some massive carbon guilt... luckily we don't own a car at the moment.

You could get a tent and a poo tube and go back country. Walking to the top of the hill and sleeping in a tent isn't my cup of tea but lots do it so it must have some appeal

DH is a back country man from way back. In fact, this weekend, he'll be pulling some big telemark turns ont he downhill runs. It's pretty funny when he does. Turns a lot of heads. Like so many things we do...
I always threatened to learn to do it when we lived in Melbourne, and if we go back, I think maybe I will.
