My personal motto is "Don't take anything traveling with you that you aren't prepared to lose!" I would maybe take the wedding ring (or swap it for a cheapie and get a fake diamond from Secrets Shhh or similar) but the exxy rings I would leave in a bank deposit box or similar for the trip.

I agree, leave them at home, somewhere safe!

Least then you won't be constantly worried if someones going to nick them, or lose them somewhere...

Wwo i would never have thought that they wouldn't be covered under your travel insurance, DP's cousins engagement ring is a whopper (talking over 50k of ring) and she plans on getting married in vegas one day, better tell her to make sure she doesn't leave it behind

I agree with Nai! Don't take anything travelling you're not prepared to lose!

I'd store them somewhere safe at home, and then wear a cheapie to advertise that you're taken =)

Hi hon, my wedding/engagement rings are worth over $20,000 and as much as I'd love to take them backpacking I would leave them home WELL hidden. The backpackers I have stayed in aren't the kind of place to be flashing my rings around in and if I was overseas I'd hate to get mugged gosh sometimes even in Australia when I'm in a foreign place and the locals look a bit dodgy I get a bit iffy about wearing them. It's all fine and well to have them covered by insurance but the sentimental value and the value of our health if we got rolled is far more important than just replacing them.

i would leave them in a really safe place at home or even with rellies.
grab a cheaper fake or even if you have another ring that fits that finger and wear that.
thieves check hands when they are robbing im afraid as there is often a lot of value on them.
and being a foreigner in their country unfortunately you might be a target moreso.

    have a great time though.

I'd leave them in a bank safe deposit box and wear a cheap replacement.

There are too many opportunities for them to be lost or stolen whilst travelling. You want to enjoy yourself and not worry about losing the bling.
