Our cat is a very good mouser but she brings them inside and plays with them and LOSES THEM so her escaped snacks wind up living in our oven. They eat the fat inside the grill drip tray.
I'm getting really good at catching mice. For a human, anyway. The indoor ones get really fat and slow and I've caught them by stepping on them, cornering them and grabbing them with a tea towel, squishing them against things and picking them up by their tails, if they hide under a pillow or stuffed toy you hold the toy down and peel up one corner and then get them by their tails. They regularly hide in small holes with their tail sticking out and don't know you can see them. Ready made handle
This morning one hid under my baby bounty bag full of brochures. So when I held it down I squished the mouse's head. So when I tracked it out by its tail I left a trail of blood from its mouth from kitchen to outdoor garbage bin ...
Oh yuck. - that is gross.
Well we resorted to poison and the mice seem to be gone but there is a fairly disgusting smell just outside the house so i think one died under the house. but after spending many days cleaning up after them am very happy they are gone.
