thanks, just realised that it was actually more than 2 months that I worked, so I earnt more than $11000, so didnt get it all back. I did look on the calculator and it said I'd get $900, I just wasnt sure if I was entitled twice because of the family tax benefit payment I'd already received. Looks like I might be able to go on a shopping spree after all!
cool! Hope they are up to date too... I think my tax return went to the accountant last yr and then they wrote me a cheque... is that how this works too?
yep if u use an accountant itll go to them then the accountant will pass onto you. i had an ABN last yr so i received a cheque, most people who do online tax etc get it in thier bank account. best to call your accountant during the week just to chek thier policy on it (e.g. whether they will pass on the cheque or what). the payments are being made in random order until 16 may so it may be a few weeks til you see it
You're only eligible for the working payment if you paid tax in 2007-2008.
I worked for 4 months, but I didnt pay any tax and was told that is the reason I am not getting it. But, if you didnt get all of your tax back, then you could be eligible. You just have to keep waiting. They're making payments till mid-may, so if you still havent got it by mid may, then give them a call and ask where it is.
