    Another stimulus question

    Hi everyone
Was just wondering if anyone knew if you were still entitled to the $900 tax bonus payment if you had already received the family tax payment? I did earn an income in 2007 - 2008, but as I only worked for 2 months of this year, I received FTB for the remainder of the year

Should I stop dreaming about spending the extra $900???

kellie it depends whether you got all your tax back or not when you did your tax return, if you can find your notice of assessment (the bit of paper that tells you how much tax you got back), it will tell you how much tax you paid and how much you got back, if you got it all back then no you are not entitled to the other 900.
if you only worked for 2 months unfortunately i doubt it cause most people who earnt under 11k got all thier tax back and therefore wont get the 900. HTH

edit: heres a link to the tax calculator on the ATO website, if you find your notice of assessment itll take you thru the steps and let you know whether you will get it or not.

you need to look at the ATO website - there is a calculator on there that allows you to see what you may be eligible for. you have ot have had a tax liability - so if you worked 2 months but got all the tax you paid back, you'll not get anything

thanks, just realised that it was actually more than 2 months that I worked, so I earnt more than $11000, so didnt get it all back. I did look on the calculator and it said I'd get $900, I just wasnt sure if I was entitled twice because of the family tax benefit payment I'd already received. Looks like I might be able to go on a shopping spree after all!

yep if u use an accountant itll go to them then the accountant will pass onto you. i had an ABN last yr so i received a cheque, most people who do online tax etc get it in thier bank account. best to call your accountant during the week just to chek thier policy on it (e.g. whether they will pass on the cheque or what). the payments are being made in random order until 16 may so it may be a few weeks til you see it
