I've done an estimate on my tax return and I should get a decent amount back because I only worked for 7 months. Then I'll also get some FTB too as I way way way over estimated my income because I didnt know how long I'd be working for. I dont know how much DH will be geting back, but we'll probably spend his on bills. I hate how all the big bills come due at the same time
We're about to do some minor renovations in our house and we're spending my tax return on that. We have a terrible floor at the moment - parquetry floorboards with carpet over the top of them, but all the floorboards have come unstuck from the subfloor so they are loose under the carpet and you can feel them move under your feet when you walk on them, so the floor is really uneven (the previous owners obviously did a cheap job on the floor when they put the carpet down!). We're getting it fixed with brand new floorboards in 3 weeks.

I will only get the education tax refund because I don't work, but it will pay off the little bit that is on the cc and then I need to buy some new sheets for our bed plus buy some for DS2's bed when we get it. I am not really thinking too much about the FTB supplement/top up as I haven't a clue if we will be over or under (probably under though) to think about it yet, but on the wish list is a new dining table and chairs, a unit for the TV and then the rest in savings for a holiday.

Yep bills and CC, thats it. Although I bought Pink tickets on the cc, so I guess that means we're splurging a bit too?

I did a bit of 'pre-emptive spending' too

Yeah mine is all spent in my head. The first thing I am doing is getting blinds. I was meant to do this with the last lot of Ruddy money, but one thing after another kept cropping up and I never got there. I desperately need blinds for summer. There goes $450.

Andrew has to renew his radio controlled flying license $225. Our car rego will also be up for renewal $600 + for 12 mths.

So I am over $1000 without even really trying to hard. Glad we get that $600 per child thing again this year or we would be stuffed LOL. We could possibly be getting a Wii as well. A friend's partner won one on Friday night and they already have one so have asked us if we want to buy it off them. So just waiting to hear on a price.

I'm way too scared to spend mine in my head as I'm not sure that I'm even going to get a refund. At the moment I've got everything crossed I don't have a tax bill.
