    Cheap Wood in Melbourne

    Ok ladies...

    I need wood.

I am hoping someone here knows about some secret stash that's cheap so I can have beautiful fires this winter.

ATM the prices I am looking at are about 250-300 for a tonne (or maybe it's half a tonne...). But I know there is cheaper and I know you have to travel (which I don't mind) I just want to know where it is!

    Can you help me???

I might be able to bribe you with baked goods...

Rouge try gumtree in the freebies section. I saw alot of free wood (you have to remove it yourself) in Syd a few weeks ago

Could you?! That would be awesome. I've seen lots on gumtree, but it's always gone by the time I look.

Oh wow that is expensive! The going rate out here is only $100 - $150 per tonne.

$110 per cubic metre down my way. Any other year we could have helped you out, but wet weather and DH having a hurt hand means we have to buy in rather than cut our own.

That's pretty much how the conversation went this morning when I rang DH and said I wanted some wood...
