I saw that sunrise were doing a story but missed it! Did they have much to say about Costco?

    Re: Costco

Qld just got Costco.. In next suburb from where I live, so not too difficult to visit.

DH and I ventured there tonight and found a few things that suit our day to day shopping. But I have wondered, do they always stock the same goods? So I can know, within reason, that if I need something I have bought in the past, I am likely to still be able to get that item again? Or are they like Aldi where they change stock lines regularly?

    Re: Costco

Yeah good question DMB, from what I've seen there's three different types of stock.

1 - Fresh food. Seasonal, but you can always get your stock standard potatoes carrots etc, just like supermarkets.
2 - Household produce. Toilet paper, pantry stock, etc. Generally same brands through rotation - one time I went there was no Cottonelle toilet paper, they had the Sorbent equivalent. But I've always been able to get tissues, the flour I use, the canned goods I want. And always known brands, eg Kleenex, Panadol, White Wings etc.
3 - Seasonal random warehouse stock. This is the stuff in the middle of the warehouse. Household stuff around the edges and constant stock. Then special buys are put in the middle of the warehouse. Seasonal stuff - so lots of toys at Christmas. Heaps of Christmas wrap - you know how the US loves their Christmas stuff. Plus heaps of books, clothes, all seasonal. You can never guarantee what's going to be there. The candy and sweets are there too and generally always the same sort of treats. Its the special buys that change regularly.

Thanks.. You understood my question better than I did, lol!

Yeah it was the everyday supermarket goods I was thinking of.

But that sums it up pretty well for me :-)

Some things change. Like the US stock. We used to get Hershey choc chips. They now have Kirkland. We get a certain American brand of dishwasher tablets whenever they are in stock. But they aren't always.
