Depends on what document it is that you need sworn/certified.

There is a difference between an Affidavit and a Statutory Declaration, with regards to who can swear same. Affidavits need people with higher qualifications than a Stat Dec.
There is also a difference between a Justice of the Peace, and a Notary Public, in relation to certifying documents. International documents will usually require a Notary Public, who can charge up to about $45 a page (from memory).

You will need to be careful about what document it is, and make sure you get the right person to swear/certify it.
