    Who are you with? I agree that threatening the ombudsman should work (it has for me before). So annoying for you though. Hope it gets fixed soon.

    We had problems with our phone line a few years back and unless you have a life threatening condition that requires you to need a phone to call an ambulance etc such as asthma or a heart condition etc, then they don't usually have a quick turn around time on fixing them. We were without ours for just over a week, but when MIL had problems recently she had hers fixed within 24hrs because she has a heart condition. Plus they 'assume' that everyone has a mobile phone these days anyway and doesn't need a landline. But I would still be calling them to hurry them up - you don't have a problem with your line that needs fixing so there is absolutely no good reason why it should take this long.
