sounds pretty safe to me! it's not sitting too close to anything or has curtains or anything hanging near it?

It sounds to me like you have thought everything through about the set up and the type of heater you are using. It should be as safe as it can get. The cold nights are starting to get to my daughter a bit as well so I am setting hers up in her room tomorrow night.

I love oil heaters. Safest way to go IMO. Won't be using ours this year though. Will have to get the fire to work extra hard to warm the whole house. Am not paying for the extra power!

i feel like a rather crappy mum now.. i just went out and brought an oil/column heater and didnt think of any risks.. was just like "she needs heat.. this is the best way" LOL
but all the things you pointed out, mine seems pretty safe also *phew* LOL

We used one of these too when DS was small... Cost an arm and a leg to run, but it worked a treat. Just make sure whatever floor coverings you have are also safe.
