you could go through an agency. There are companies who organise house swap holidays with all references and everything sorted and they are very used to pets. Aussie house swap I think is one.

Aussie House Sitters (google it) are great, the sitters have to pay money to advertise on the site, you can interview a few different ones (we did, had a couple of different couples over to see how they interacted with our fur-babies) and they even have contacts that you can sign with the house sitter for your peace of mind, best of all, its free..... the sitters get their accom in return

I cant see you not being able to get someone though, such a beautiful place and time of year, we are getting married up in Maleny in August its that good
