I got one for the Man for Christmas (and to try and improve the air in our house). We don't have it on very much, and I ended up having to put it on a plate, because it was weeping.

If you think it's too bright, put a lower wattage globe in. I am under the impression that you don't need to have the lamp turned on for its ionic benefits. But I could be wrong.

Google himalayan salt lamps for more info.
They have to be on to have the benifits (i was told) I was also warned about having them off because they are electric when they "weep" they can get moisture into the wires/switch but mother in law kept turning mine off during the day when i wasn't home. One night when DD1 was a baby she wasn't settling so i reached out to turn it off until she fell asleep and the cord exploded in my hand. So please leave them on. My dad has one in every room of the house i love them but i can't bring myself to have one again in case it accidentally gets turned off and the same thing happens. Sorry to be negative but yeah. They're gorgeous, I love them and they give off a nice soft light. But leave them on
