still haven't got my stimulus money ??

Everyone I know here that are entitled to it have received, except dh and I!! I know it's on the way, I'll just have to keep waiting a little longer.

If you're not sure if you're entitled to it, just do the online calculator on the ATO website. I can only imagine how busy the ATO are with so many phone calls ATM.

Clare, I did my tax return using e-tax and I got the tax bonus just yesterday directly into my bank account!! Yayy!! Thanks Kevin!

thanks girls, they did pay it directly into my bank account last year, so hopefully they will just do the same with the stimulus. I dont want to ring before the 16th because I dont want to get in trouble

in trouble for what? theres no harm in ringing, just means you will probably be waiting on hold for ages just to be told what weve said

I wonder if I ring the ATO if they can tell me who they will pay it too, and if its too late to change my address so it comes directly to me

clare im pretty sure its too late to update your address but no harm in ringing them
im pretty sure theres a seperate phone line set up for stimulus enquiries, check the ato website

DH hadn't changed his address for the payment, so our payment was sent to our old address. The ATO cancelled the original cheque and have made up a new one to post out to us.
Obviously it isn't too late to change your address now, but it will probably mean that like us, you'll still have to wait a few more weeks... the ATO told my DH around 2 weeks to make up the new cheque and send it out.

When I spoke with the chick from ATO today, she said that a lot of tax agents are rejecting the payments so then a cheque gets forwarded to your addy you have with the ATO, so I'm thinking it's gotta be a massive process to get everyone's payment right.

clare - I did ours through e-tax last year cause our accountant was too busy , did you nominate a bank account or get a cheque in the post? Cause either way if your addy is still the same you will get the money eventually.
