I had heaps of tupperware accumulated over many years and when I was in hospital having DD4 DF and his sister got into my cupboard and threw away things they thought I didn't want Most of my tupperware got tossed boo hoo. I've never let him forget it

I'm the same, I went to a Tupperware part my SIL was throwing, and I'd never been to one before and I wanted to buy something to help support SIL so she gets extra bonuses etc.

And like you I was FLABBERGHASTED at how much everything cost!! I mean I know they last a lifetime etc, but honestly I've had containers that have lasted AGES and never had any problems, and were like 1/10th the cost! (maybe slight exaggeration, but you get the drift lol)

I think I'd rather just buy cheaper stuff honestly, I'm not a brand name snob, and by the time the container fails, I'll just buy another, which is usually a fair way away.

im a big tupperware fan. i think its good value for money and i love all the things i have bought. yes some stuff is a bit exxie but i think some is reasonable.

I just had a tupperware party today and now get to choose $100 worth of tupperware, thats the only way I get tupperware by having parties and getting free/cheap stuff!!! lol

AngelPants - Depending on size of pantry, they say you should budget around $300 per shelf. Bearing in mind you will have stuff in bottles etc. But packet stuff can all be emptied into MM, and they reckon the average is $300/shelf.
Doesn't cost anything to have a demonstrator to come and measure it up for you. Then you can also do it a shelf at a time, or bit by bit. Whatever.

My fantastic plastic brochure doesn't say anything about BPA... Have sent email to distributor.

I love my Tupperware!! I used to be a demonstrator, so I could rave on about it for ages, but I was a huge fan before that too. There is one or two things that I wouldn't bother with personally, but then there's plenty of stuff that I wouldn't be without, like modular mates, the fridgesmart stuff, microwave stuff. The can opener is fantastic, my parents actually bought one for my nanna, who has arthritis (sp?) and its the only one she can use. The knives are very good. And I love my Illusions range salad bowls because there so pretty!

I really do think its worth the extra money, as it is such a better quality of plastic. And most of it saves you money in the long run - eg the heat n eat stuff means DH never has to buy lunch, nor does he have to wory about it leaking in his bag; the modular mates mean you can buy in bulk, plus it keeps it fresher; the fridgesmart stuff keeps veggies so much longer than the normal crisper so you don't have to throw stuff away.

I have one of the tupperware tin openers. I love it because it takes the lid off without leaving sharp edges.

Exactly the reason why we bought one. They are fantastic especially when you've got little ones who like to take things out of the recycling bin!!!

That's the reason I got one but DH can't seem to work it although this was way before ds was coming into the picture
