We just recently bought a wool/cotton quilt. it's the David Jones brand. I'm like you and like a doona I can snuggle into and have always had feather but now Im moving in with DF, he has astma and allergies so he has to have wool. The last wool one he had was really flat and heavy like a really thick blanket. The new one is light and fluffy like a feather one. Make sure you get them when they're on sale though.
