Where to get rid of magazines?

I have a rather large amount of food magazines to get rid of, probably alot more than 100, dating back to 2002, so I'm tipping nobody much will want them!

Do I just chuck them? Donate to the Salvos? Or does anyone know of any service etc that would actually WANT them?

A special school might like them. They do lots of cooking classes and may appreciate them to have for recipes or to cut out pictures of food etc?

I would think maybe the older ones to pre-schools etc for the pictures.....and the newer ones to doctors, dentists, nursing homes...

I'm donating mine to my daughters daycare cente, they use them to cut out the pictures and letters for collages. Local hospitals are always looking for old magazines and books as most have a volunteer service which goes around to the paitents rooms each day to give out free magazines/books.

yep i would give them to a school or kinder or something.

i always remember doing a health class in year 7, and having to cut out pics of healthy things.. yet the magazines had like nothing left in them! otherwise doctors surgeries etc

my mum often buys magazines from op shops... i have a heap of perfectly good scrapbooking/pregnancy/parenting mags that she paid 50c for!

Depends what they are - I guess cooking/home stuff to an opshop, gossipy type ones to a school if they use them for collages - but don't give your mags with sex advice or anything like that to a kindy! I'd say op-shop or recycle those.
