I definitely would especially in the interest of recycling. But it would Give me more confidence that I'm not swapping for junk if 'standards' are set and perhaps a feedback mechanism like ebay's. I would swap perhaps one or two item first and if i'm satisfied with the arrangement, I will be happy to swap more.

OUr local Children's Centre (UK government initiative to provide a place for parents of 0-5s with a place, groups and advice) runs a Freecycle Swap day every quarter and it is very successful! In fact I have barely bought anything for my DS apart from underwear as there is so much there. I have seen things I gave when DS was a baby turn up again at the next Freecycle once that other baby had grown out of it. It really is a great way of getting good quality things I normally couldn't afford!
