Yeah, we mainly find this an issue in our laundry because it is right at the back of the house and opens out onto our entertaining area etc. so it's a high traffic area and the kids are walking stuff in from the backyard etc. But with three kids I'm forever sweeping or vacuuming anyway so it's not that big a deal

    Not you two again...
Bec, we have floorboards throughout....DH and i dont have carpet in our rooms, but girls (and boy ) does...i HATE carpet...there is floorboards under the carpet, and when we have some $$ we will be ripping it up and re-polishing those boards....
I sweep/vacumn several times a day ON THE FLOORBOARD area...i dont do the carpet, cos i dont see it (dust.....)t...carpet is very mysterious i find. I would rather see what i have to clean up than guess.....KWIM ????

I know what you mean MBear about vacuuming several times per day. Our eating area constantly needs cleaning up because the kids drop food all the time and DD1 is Miss scissors hands and her craft stuff gets everywhere lol.

I grew up in Queenslander style houses with wooden floors and I can remember my mother doing the floors constantly. I personally would rather see the dust as well, at least I know the place is clean.

Totally agree, I'd rather see the dirt. We have a large rug in our main living area that does.my.head.in because it is constantly dirty and stained. Blah! Trying to talk DH into getting rid of it now that we have the new floors and just replacing it with a much smaller, darker coloured rug.
