So, does anyone have a loft bed for their child/ren ? What do you and your children think of them? A loft bed, in case you don't know, is like a bunk bed, but no bed at the bottom. Instead there is a space for your furniture or cubby house, or built in desk, maybe cupbards and a shelf...
I'm thinking this would be a good idea, being that DD and DS share a room, and we're *really* tght for space (in the whole house). But I don't want that is really tall/high for the bed for a number of reasons; safety, easy for tired DD to get in and out of, and lastly, easy for me to change sheets, say good night, etc. I know I don't want to be setting off on an expedition just to give a goodnight kiss. I think not much higher than a metre...
However, being that all the loft beds I can find online are mostly high, or not with what I want (rollout/pullout desk, cupbard or wardrobe, shelves), or really expensive, I'm thinking of drawing up some plans and getting the Man to (hopefully) help me make one. DD likes some of them (in pictures), and maybe, if successful, we'll need to make another for DS, especially if Mack ends up in their room too! (Their room is a good size, I just need to get creative with storage)
