I am in the process of re decorating DD's bedroom, on a budget. I scored a beautiful vintage queen anne dresser from the op shop, which I am currently fixing up, it is white. She already has a lovely white chest of drawers, a white toddler bed & a white bookshelf. I was planning on keeping the white theme. However the toddler bed has got to go, and buying a new bed at this point of time isnt on the list of necessities. My parents have offered for DD a beautiful solid recycled jarrah bed that they have in a spare room & it actually used to be my bed! Its gorgeous and would be worth a fair bit. My only problem is that it is JARRAH, which is beautiful obviously, but doesnt tie in with the white theme. Can I get away with it??? Or should I just wait till we can buy a new white bed?
You could paint it then if she keeps it for ages and is wanting a more grown up look you can strip it back again and feel like a whole new bed once more.
Does it have white bars or something you could wind white material around? A white bedskirt sort of thing to hide legs, a slipcover, maybe a white mosquito net.....
Not really Nelle, but the white bedskirt is a really good idea. Maybe also I could put a couple of white decoration pillows on it to tie it in a bit more? Thought I dont know how long the pillows would stay white for lol
As nice as the bed is.......it will probably look very out of place with everything else being white I had the same problem with V's bedroom...everything white and a beautiful timber bed and it looked crap!
Sorry but I just wouldnt do it cause it would eat at me so badly and id have to paint the bed
