to put a bath in or not

We are going to renovate our tired bathroom next year. No more brown and blue

Its a small pokey thing with a huge bath in it that we dont use.

Id rather put in a BIG shower were it is, the shower would then become the hand basin and a big window right in the middle of the wall in the room.

Jed would rather keep the set up the same but its just so cramped and BLAH

what would you do? Keep the bath for later resale or make the bathroom more practical for us now and the next few years.

could you put in a shower over bath? I think a bath is always a nice thing to have..even if you just want to have a nice soak in a warm bath..and for resale I think it's a great idea as not having a bath may rule out certain groups of people (e.g. families with young kids). Is there enough room to combine the bath and shower or would it still be too cramped? At the same time you don't want to have a bathroom with no room to move.

do you only have the one bathroom ?? if so keep a bath but maybe downsize it

if you have 2 bathrooms get rid of it

we have just moved from a 3 bed 1 bath small home to a 4 bed 2 bath large home, the only downside for me is that there is NO bath, we have been here 6 weeks and im already having withdrawls from soaking in the bath after a tireing day with the kids, lol

we didnt use the bath alot at the old house, all the kids mainly showered together, but since not having one, i really miss it.

maybe u could ask a realestate agent their opionion on what the resale would be like with or with out a bath, if an elderly couple bought it, it would not matter, but a couple with a small young family, might feel the need for a bath.

i suppose it would depend how long u are planning on staying there, and if u would reget not putting one in?

When we last renovated we ditched the bath, as there really was not enough room, also I am of the policy if there is going to be a bath it has to be a decent one. Back at that house though we only had the one child and were able to deal with a large baby bath, then she had showers with us. Now we have baths all the time and then bucket the water into the washing machine (we are on tank water).

So it is a tough one. As has already been suggested, it would depend on how long you are going to be there.

As you are planning to renovate and sell in the future you might find it hard if there is no bath. From a personal perspective I wouldn't buy a house without one

I lived in a rental for 3 years with no bath and hated not having a bath!!!

Not that I use bath much myself its nice to have option and seems to be something that helps sell a house.
