we have just moved from a 3 bed 1 bath small home to a 4 bed 2 bath large home, the only downside for me is that there is NO bath, we have been here 6 weeks and im already having withdrawls from soaking in the bath after a tireing day with the kids, lol
we didnt use the bath alot at the old house, all the kids mainly showered together, but since not having one, i really miss it.
maybe u could ask a realestate agent their opionion on what the resale would be like with or with out a bath, if an elderly couple bought it, it would not matter, but a couple with a small young family, might feel the need for a bath.
i suppose it would depend how long u are planning on staying there, and if u would reget not putting one in?
When we last renovated we ditched the bath, as there really was not enough room, also I am of the policy if there is going to be a bath it has to be a decent one. Back at that house though we only had the one child and were able to deal with a large baby bath, then she had showers with us. Now we have baths all the time and then bucket the water into the washing machine (we are on tank water).
So it is a tough one. As has already been suggested, it would depend on how long you are going to be there.
As you are planning to renovate and sell in the future you might find it hard if there is no bath. From a personal perspective I wouldn't buy a house without one
I would keep the bath but maybe downsize - go for a triangular one or just a shortened form. I agree I wouldn't buy a house without a bath becuase my kids play there at least once a day!
Our bathroom is tiny...Raven knows dont ya and I cant remember the last time we used the bath but for resale I can see it would be important
so after reading what you girls have been saying i think im going to have to make jed shut up and listen to me shower over the bath might be the way to go. That way we can put a new bath in were the old one is and put a fixed shower screen on one side were the shower is, a window right in the middle of the room like i would really like and the basin were I want and yet have HEAPS of room in there.
I am another on the 'keep the bath' team. Our house doesn't have one, and we are considering trying to redo bathroom before bub arrives. Whenever we go away, i spend loong hours in the hotel bath.
