Jasmine is a big sister! Sienna Jane was born at home in the water Thursday evening 31/1/13 at 8:40pm. 3.71kg (8 pound 3oz). 56 cm long.

Amazing birth! Fast, intense but beautiful! I felt her head with my hands as she emerged, and caught her myself! labour was less than 3 hours from first niggles. Jas was there for the birth, was very chilled during the labour and so excited to meet her sister and have cuddles

I was a bit worried that DH would put his foot down and say no, he's a pretty private guy when it comes to birth. But he surprised me and is actually fine with it
The photo she had published was a gorgeous tandem feeding pic, right when the whole BF-in-public commotion started. She is so well priced, and studying to be a doula, I can't believe my luck!

Congratulations Turtlejane, she is beautiful. And yay to a safe and speedy birth!!

Hi to everyone else!!! 24 weeks here now, and everything is going very well, bub is growing and moving, and there is not much else to report!! Have a midwife appointment next week, they seem to come around really quick! I have to make a decision about whether to do the diabetes test. The last midwife was confident in not needing it, because of signs and symptoms but this one is not, so I am not sure what to do?? Any advice or personal experience appreciated!!

We have the birth pool a friend has lent us, and I am slowly trying to think about who to ask to come and support our children while I birth. The girls grow more and more excited each day as my belly grows, it is so incredible to share this with the children, especially the older two 11 and 9, they really have such a different sense of what is going on this time.

I hope this finds you all well, I will go and have a read of what has been happening whilst I have been away the last few weeks! xx

Ladybirdflies - look up the risk factors for gestational diabetes, as well as the effectiveness of the glucose test, and make your decision from there.

I've skipped mine the past couple of times, and my first midwife was not OK with that, but I was confident in my decision. (She said "Well, the only other person I've had who skipped their diabetes test had a stillbirth... Good grief.)
My second midwife said that since I was very low-risk and had no history of large babies or any other indications of GD she was fine with that.
