Haha thanks Bella, I think its in everyone's best interests if they stay away from my house at the moment lol

Luckily the other three kids don't seem to have any issues, so I'm hoping its just me and DD3.

I've had some toast with honey on it this morning, can't remember what you are supposed to eat or not eat when you have gastro. My brain is totally fried and my house is a mess and I'm on my own today because DH starts his new job at the hospital!
You can eat whatever you feel like. It's just usually people prefer bland food coz its not so bad coming back up. And I'd recommend you steer clear of food that'll upset your gall bladder especially, as you don't want issues with that on top of the gastro. I really hope you're feeling better soon. I hate gastro, and to have it at 38.5w pg is no fun, especially with 4 kids to look after. Lots of hugs.

Special, I did. I had Georgia video my birth, from documenting delight. She really u dee stood being unobtrusive, and later my Mw and hubby were really surprised at the shots she got, because we were mostly unaware of her presence. That's what a photographer who understands birth does. An ordinary photographer can interfere with your space and could wreck it. Actually bellybelly wrote an article about it a short while ago. You could google.
Thank you, this is really helpful.

My sister is coming to video and take photos this time and videoing is her job. She'll also be the girls' support person, so two birds with one stone, so to speak. Last time anyone standing around took photos, but especially my doula after and during the birth, when my m/ws were helping me. Mum took video, it isn't all great thanks to lighting, etc, but I'm glad we got it.

I think the post-birth photos are the best.

Arimeh, hope you feel better soon. DD2 had a touch of gastro last week but no one else caught it.

Congrats sepata, I can't wait to hear more!!

    Welcome special.

Arimeh: Rasberry jam is great for tummy bugs, so try that on toast instead. I had gastro with my first pg and it's horrible. Stay well hydrated if you can stomach Gatorade or similar.
Are you sure baby's head isn't hanging your cervix? I used to get weak at the knees when baby would headbutt my cervix late in pg. it would send electric shocks through me!! The Braxton hicks are promising. All that prelabour stuff is exhausting so try and rest when you can.

Arcadia - nah I'm pretty sure his head is still grinding into my hip, and its his shoulder in my bladder. Still have to work on positioning him properly

This thread is going fast lately and can't keep up! Good thing I guess

    Congrats Sepata!

Arimeh: hope you are feeling better and the rest of the kids don't get sick, gastro is the worst. My to had it not long ago and it was a terrible two weeks of it! Couldn't imagine having to go through that towards end of pregnancy, not nice!

Well things aren't going great here...MW tried to admit me to a mother baby unit on Friday but none would take me with DS as he is a few months too old, glad she understood parting me from him while still breastfeeding would be too hard for me. So she did in consultation with GP send me to local hospital where I spent a few hours in birth suite waiting for a psych review. Thankfully got to go home again. I'm still losing weight which she's not happy about as my eating disorder takes hold. Trying my best to get back on top of it but hard with limited support. My MW has been great though and seeing me weekly while I'm having this difficult time. She's concerned as I'm moving out of low risk into high risk pregnancy now and say that she will have to consult with an OB...and says if I don't start gaining weight she won't be able to let me birth at home. Which she knows I wouldn't want to happen so I guess that's an extra push to get on top of it. Just so frustrating as I've been reaching out for help but support services all have me on long waiting lists. Oh and fear that they are all pushing me to go on medication as that's the only way I'll be able to get ongoing help is if I accept their recommendations. I sooo don't want to go on antidepressants but don't know what else to do. My mind is so confused at the moment it's hard to know what's the right decision. Obviously my main concern is for my baby, which may seem ironic considering I'm restricting my food but my mind is a very traumatised confused place right now. So annoying that my PTSD has to constantly haunt me in life and while I do my best to suppress it (as only thing I've found that eventually works) I can't do it when I'm struggling and at times of weakness.
See MW again on Thursday and have dietitian appointment on Friday...yet still on waiting lists for mental health services. Ok now you girls will think I'm a complete nutcase. Soo frustrating when all I want to be is normal.

Eenee, I don't think you're a nutcase. Everyone has their struggles and I think you're remarkably self aware. I have another friend that is really frustrated trying to get her daughter mental health services, and it's shocking how hard it is to get help, especially when you're flat out asking for it.

I hope that between your MW and Dietician, you can work out the beginnings of a plan to get you on track.

Arimeh - how are you and your household? Stomachs settling down yet? Take it easy hon!

    How is everyone else doing?

My kids went back to school today, and DH headed back to work. The first day of "back to normal" for me, and I think it will be just fine. Got to get some groceries, and run a few errands, but I'll try to do that this morning, and then catch a bit of a nap in the afternoon. Caleb is a very quiet baby, but he does like to eat a lot at night, so naps are becoming essential! Thankfully my two other small ones also nap in the afternoon, and my 4 year old DD who is home will be fine watching a movie or coloring beside me on the couch for a little while.

I was looking at thank you gifts for the midwives (I think I have to get 4 "thank yous" this time!) and there are some pretty interesting things on Etsy.... Would you like a hand embroidered picture of a vagina, for only $120?

Welcome to the HB thread Special

I agree with Eenee...this thread is moving super fast! YAY!

Eenee: it does totally suck when a mental illness rears its head and it just consumes everything (which they tend to do!). I totally totally feel for you having to rely on crapulent services of our health system. i once spent way too long in a waiting room at a hossy here in melbs and it was so demoralising and just not what i needed (i was 9 months PP...so they didnt want me at the Mother baby unit...).

I really feel for you xx I am so thankful that you have your midwife there. I so hope that you can manage to get on top of your eating so that you can stay at home. You dont want to enter the system if you can prevent it in anyway how is your DH now? is it sinking in for him that this might be here for a bit longer than a fleeting moment? much love eenee xx

Cricket: shopping?! already?! hats off woman! you rock! i reckon 8 days out and i hadnt left the couch...that said my IMs pretty much tied me to it
