I hope you're not waiting too much longer! :D Sending labour and easy birthing vibes your way if you want 'em ;)

Has anyone heard from dotface recently? Hoping she's doing well and has gone quiet because she's snuggling a newborn :)
Sending beautiful birthing vibes your way, Eeenee. Not long now.
About seven weeks to go for us too. Bub has the hiccups a lot now, so I'm confident she's at least doing her bit to get ready for the outside world. I'll be ready for her in about six weeks. ;)
Teni, how are you doing? Feeling prepared?
Yeah I have wondered about dotface too. I'm sure she is either very close or as you say, cuddling a nb. I know that initial transition to motherhood can feel massive, so here's to hoping she has her hands full of baby goodness.
Well, I may as well share this here now - I've finished my mother blessing cake for tomorrow! I was unsure how it would turn out, and I've dyed my hands blue, but it's done and I'm proud of it :)

Now, what to do with all the leftover icing?
You should definitely be proud of it, it's awesome! Well done :)

I don't think we quite achieved the calm atmosphere I was going for, but I was kind of expecting that anyway. In any case we all had a lot of fun, I feel very loved and connected to these women who love me, and I look very hippy-ish with my hennaed belly :p
Awesome pictures Teni... I loved the cake, job well done... countdown to birth is really happening for you now!!
Awesome! That looks great! Glad you had a lovely day. Lots of birth blessings to you tenibear.
My homebirth mothers group friends organised a last minute blessingway for me for today. Was nice to have people so caring and thoughtful enough to do this for me. They painted my belly (I'd already done henna on my own belly a few days ago in front of the mirror lol!) DD helped paint my belly too funny kid! And they made flags and DD and DS both participated in that also :) then they made a birthing necklace and did the blinding of the wrists thing.
So baby can come now!
Feeling super low and uncomfortable and can't walk properly due to bubs head being so low lol!
Aw, that's awesome of then eenee :D I wish I wasn't such a control freak, then someone else could've organised mine
My belly's itchy and sting-y now, I got a bit too rough getting the dry paste off. I was shedding all over the floor so I couldn't keep it on any longer. It's already nice and dark though, so hopefully it develops even further and I get a nice deep stain :) If not, the woman left a cone of paste here by accident so I could get someone to try to go over it again as it fades...
Oh gosh, next big thing to do now is give birth :jawdrop:
Sounds like you both had lovely Blessingways. I've booked mine in for early next mth. Just a low key morning tea. My sister has made bunting flags for everyone to write on. I might order the henna for having my belly painted too - that looks kinda fun. Not sure what else to do, if anything. But at least looking forward to a nice get together.
Eenee, not long now.
Teni, you always add a little excitement! You will rock this birth though. ;)
Jen a nice thing is to get some wool and as each woman gets the ball she wraps it around her wrist a couple of times, then as she passed it on to the next woman, she speaks to you and tells you what she hopes for you from the birth. I have seen some women also give the women am each a bead to put on the wool. At the end everyone is attached in a circle by their wrists, then you cut the wool and each woman keeps her bit and wan ears it until you birth your baby, and if it is important, until you establish bfing.
Sepata and Bella29 you guys were right I was quiet because I was snuggling a new born!
Long story short waters broke at about 5pm followed by strong, regular contractions 9-10 mins apart on 8/11 and after labouring at home in the water for about 10 hours including 3 hours of pushing (bubs was posterior) we made the decision to transfer to hospital where I requested an epidural and had a beautiful 4.04kg baby BOY just before 8am on 9/11 via ventouse delivery!
So everyone was right about him being a boy lol I was so convinced he would be a girl I'd bought a few cute girl's outfits from target when they were having the online clearance sale :p.
We're both doing well now, I am so in love with and in awe of him!
Hope everyone gets the birth they want, although I didn't get my home birth I walked away feeling amazed at how much my body can take and am glad I had the ability to make my own decisions all the way through. My primary midwife was off duty so my back up midwife was there and she and my husband and my mum were all a great support team.
Best wishes to everyone yet to take their labour journey! ♥♥♥
Congratulations dotface! What a great job you did. Birthing is such hard work no matter how we do it, and it should inspire you to awe in yourself. Congratulations on birthing such a healthy little boy!! I hope you are getting lots of rest and enjoying your newborn snuggles. Well done mamma!!
Great Job Dotface! Congratulations on the birth of your little man!
That's so beautiful, Dotface!! Posterior births are the real marathons, none of that Olympics crap ;) You worked hard for those snuggles!
You got to labour at home, it must have been a real comfort to do that uninterrupted before making the call to transfer.
I booked in as a back up with my local hospy, with a wonderful midwife who totally got where I was coming from. If I have to transfer there I think I will be comfortable with that.
For now, though, I'm on crutches, have a hydrotherapy physio and I'm skipping engagements that I know will make me miserable if there are stairs or hard chairs to sit on. 21.5 weeks, only about 20 to go of hopefully just maintaing where I'm at now (no point hoping it will get better before the birth!).
I've got a friend giving me a car seat, another with a cradle, I'll get my ergo and my cotton wrap sling back, and I need to clean up some other equipment soon before I can't bend to clean them properly. I can't really afford to leave that for much longer, this time round. A baby corner will have to be set up soon, too, because this mobility impairment lark will impact on my nesting activities closer to the time.
Congrats DotFace! What did you name your little man? I hope you've been enjoying your babymoon. Sounds like you did a fantastic job with a bub not in the best of positions. Looking forward to reading your birth story when you get around to it. Also sounds like you are very happy with the support and continuity of care you received, which is the true bonus of planning a home birth (no matter where the birth actually occurs).
Baby has pushed right down into my pubic area in the last day or so. I've felt several sharp twinges from the ligaments and my bladder is being completely squished to the side or something. I remember this with DD2 as she started to engage. Once she moved down a bit further it got a bit easier, ironically (esp on the bladder), so I'm hoping in another week or so she's progressed past this uncomfortable part.
I am now nagging DP to get an air compressor so we can blow up and check the pool. I'm also hanging out to start using my fitball. Time to think about the practical getting ready for the birth stuff. I'll order the oxygen cylinder in a few more weeks so that it's here before Christmas. I think once I get past the Blessingway I'll get all of my supplies sorted from my list. Better go and dig that out.
Eenee, Teni, how are you guys doing? If I feel that time is running out, I can only imagine how you're doing!
Jen do you have to organise all the oxygen yourself? My midwife provides all that, that would stress me trying to organise that too lol.
Well I think I have everything in place, everything else doesn't matter, I mean I don't have a third car seat in the car yet, but who needs to leave the house right lol!
Bub is very very very low! It's so uncomfortable I can't walk with my legs too close together and it's a bit sore as well! So hoping Bub comes soon, it likes to press on my sciatic nerve which practically paralyses me as I have to stop and lean over something until Bub moves, it's way worse than a contraction! Going by my dates I'm 40weeks today, by ultrasound dates not until Wednesday. Have a feeling when Bub decides to come it's going to be rather quick! Feel free to laugh at me if I'm wrong and it takes days like DS!
Yeah, Eenee, I have to get the tank as it's all sealed/checked and needs to be delivered to my house by the gas people. M/ws bring all the tubing, etc. It costs about $40 for the month. Nice man who delivered it last time said he's never picked one up from a home birth that's been used yet. ;) It basically sits in the corner and gathers dust for a month.
Hope you're staying as comfortable as possible!
Care plan meeting went well, I ended up just doing it with Kris. Just as well, it wasn't the in-depth discussion I thought it would be.
Next appointment is "The Big One" - they're dropping off the birth pool etc.! :o Next week, I can't believe NEXT WEEK I'll be all set to have this baby at home. Wasn't I just complaining that everything was going too slow? Now it's like it's been fast forwarded  Even DH admitted he's been thinking we had heaps of time to prepare, but now my blessing is done and dusted he's realised it's not that long to go :D

DD has just started vomiting and DH is in bed feeling sick...I didn't need this right now...scared as anything if Bub decides to come now or I get it and go into labour :( crying because it's all too much.
Eenee. When your body and mind is stressed u won't go into labour. Because the cortisol released blocks the oxytocin. Take a deep breathe and know that your body and baby will wait till things settle. Your gonna be fine love. Just do what needs to be done and ask for help and it will be ok. Hugs mamma. Have a good cry if it makes you feel better. But know everything will be ok.
Thanks Bella
Thinking if you Eenee. My ds was vomiting last night but woke up bright eyed and cheeky this morning. Fingers crossed its a minor bug and gone in 48 hours from your house.
I'll hold off the birth vibes until you give the all-clear on the sickness front!
Hope that the family is better soon for you Eenee!
Dotface: MASSIVE congratulations on your little boy!! what a fantastic marathon effort! and you are so right: it is amazing what our bodies are capable of doing! I am just so thrilled for you!
Teni: whhaaaaatttt? you are at birth pool drop off stage!! far out brussel sprout! that has just gone so quickly....
 eenee, I hope everyone recovers quickly :( Or at the very least, before labour kicks in. Bella's right though, in general stress can stop you from going into labour. Not that we want you to stress out, of course, but sometimes a little worrying can be helpful! Just remind yourself to relax and release once you feel you can :)
Cassius: I knooooow :o Wasn't it just a couple of months ago I got my BFP?
Congratulations Dotface. What a nice surprise, a little baby boy. :)
Congratulations dotface, hope you are enjoying your squishy snuggles :)
Well hello 40 weeks we meet a again. DD is better now and so is DH, DS is off his food and I feel a bit off. Hopefully that is as bad as it gets for us. Then Bub is welcome to come.
It won't be long now eenee! Even I it feels like it, it won't be long :). Yay for you!
Eenee- Everyone processes illness differently, I hope they are your symptoms... sounds like everyone is having a clear out before the new baby arrives!! I hope you all feel well again quickly... one day closer to your baby YAY!!
Feeling very sick today was up most of the night feeling nauseous...ugh just want this over so I can focus on having Bub :(
Ah no, E! Hope you get some rest and feel better soon.
Thinking of you eenee. Gastro sucks!!!
Oh no eenee, I hope it's just pre-labour stuff and not actual gastro! Sending no-more-nausea vibes your way ;)
We have a baby, be back to update with the details when I have the energy. We are both well :)
Woohoo! Yay Eenee. Rest up.
Ok I'm back already as too wide awake to sleep
A little boy O liver G eorge born at home in water!! At 4.57am this morning. 7lb15oz feeding like a champ!
Things started around ten last night, wasn't happy as was still feeling sick from gastro but that subsided as things ramped up. Told the MW I don't want to do it now can I do it tomorrow lol. Second MW only made it in time for 3rd stage, I made the pool go a nice dark shade of red so feeling a little feint but ok. Big brother and sister got to see him being born also.
