How's it going Rory? Did things pick up for you? I hope everything goes beautifully for you, and soon you're snuggling with that tiny new person.
If the pre-labour carries on for a while, I found with my last three that a stretch and sweep got things moving a little. (Or a LOT, as in DS's birth!)
    All the best!

Hello beautiful women I got my bfp today I'm also passionate about having a home water birth, yay! So just putting my foot in here

One question, I'm going to start a thread about it but thought I'd ask in here too; I live in Footscray and within the catchment area for Sunshine, and I'd like to do their HB program...does anyone know much about this? How do I go about booking it, and when? Xx

I don't know the answers to your questions PZ - but congrats and to the group!!!

Rory, I know I've said it on facebook AND in your birth announcement thread, but congrats again!! HOWEVER - were you wearing your flippers?!?!?

Its looking more like I will have a homebirth down here, DH said today that he just doesn't think this place will sell in time for us to get to queensland, so if he does get accepted into uni, he'll have to defer for a year, and we'll stay down here, and have the homebirth. Which doesn't really bother me, I was happy with either option, but it would have been nice to have my mum there for the birth... and Deb as well... ahhh well....

PZ: YIPPEEEEE!!! i *think* roryrory just had her bubs through the sunshine program...i have no idea 'fraid! i am SO.EXCITED.FOR.YOU.

Arimeh: i hope that you are ok with that babe...if there are ANY doubts about the arrangement talk it through and work through it. do you have a mentor or doula/midwife/calmbirth person who can help you? my midwives and calmbirth support worked with me to try and sort out any 'wildcards' that could hinder our birth journey and i found it really really important to find myself in the right space so that my home could welcome a baby.

PZ!!! I said it in your PA but YAY again on your

Arimeh. You will do a great job welcoming your baby into the world where ever you are! There are so many "would have been nice" in pregnancy and birth that it is almost impossible to tick them all off. Either way it would be nice for you to know 100% where you will be so you can plan something!

AFM: Getting more and more use to the idea of having a where-ever-the-hell-i-am birth. Hopefully it will match this kids personality! A girlfriend asked me today where i am going to have the baby, i said "bilo or the backyard"

HUGE congratulations PZ!!! Rory just went through the Sunshine HB program- and had a gorgeous HB You have more rules and restrictions going through a hospital program so make sure you're aware of those and happy to transfer to hospital should they arise. I think it's a matter of choosing what suits you. Transferring for anything other than a medical emergency was a big concern of mine so an IM has been a good option to take away my anxietyand help me feel in control & trust my caregivers.

Yay for the HB AE!! Might need to work through missing your support people though...

Sooo... I think I'm next? Anyone due sooner than mid-Nov now?

As we've had a few births recently I thought I'd see if anyone is interested in adding their homebirth costs to this thread...
