It is beautiful Bella! As someone approaching their second vbac (first hbac), your video does wonders for putting me in a great mindset for the birth. I have watched it so many times already, and will many more as my birth approaches.

Well I had my dating scan yesterday and everything looks fine. Measuring spot on what I thought my dates were, heartbeat was 129bpm and Im due March 2nd. So thats a relief.
The not having a decision made about ante natal and birth care is not however :wall: Most options wont even let me sign up for anything until we have a fixed address in Perth and the military housing people wont give us a house until 4 weeks before moving (there is absolutely zilch available atm for our move dates) which puts me at over 12wks by the time we get to Perth. So frustrating!
The independent midwife emailed me back, I just dont know if I can convince hubby that $5000 will be worth it. But Im terrified of trusting the public system again and private care doesnt really offer the kind of birth Im looking for.

Bella I just watched your video after getting the link through fb and it was amazing, when I saw you pull him out yourself I was gobsmacked! Gorgeous moment! It made me determined to pull my own out (God Willing)!
I love how your midwife just sat by as an observer more than anything, like a life guard just making sure everything is going ok and not interfering, it was so beautiful!

Meow? Lady bug? How are you? Had my anti d shot today! Next time I see the MW I'll be 33 weeks. DH got leave from the 8th September for three weeks. Hopefully bubby will come within that three weeks ;)
I have cankles! Well more one cankle... I worked a 13hr shift which was crazy busy at 30weeks pregnant so not the smartest move, then had a huge weekend.... But I am hoping this isn't the start of something. BP is still low, MW not worried.
Mums with bubs, you know its still lovely to hear you talk about them out or utero... Come on some updates and gushing please :)
SO excited to have you here Freya!! At least you'll be in Perth fairly early in the pregnancy. I just changed MWs at 30 weeks! It's never too late ;)
My ankles and fingers are just starting to swell too Tegam. It's getting super hot here though too... will be time to stop wearing my ring soon! My BP is on the low side, has gone down the last two readings so I'm certainly not dealing with high BP. I had a blood test recently which found I'm still borderline anemic (great not to have dropped though even though my blood volume has increased) and my platelets are low. Taking iron supplements, chlorophyll and alfalfa to boost my blood. I had more energy within a couple of days so that's exciting. I'm determined to go into this birth with more vigour and hopefully not crash so badly post-natally this time.
Getting excited to meet this little one. I feel like I'm growing another massive baby with the strong kicks but still measuring spot on so that's good. We had a second visit with our doula and it went super well. She'll be sibling support during the birth then she's making me a placenta smoothie and encapsulating the placenta for me then she'll be coming around for 2 weeks after to provide post-natal support like running herbal baths for me and all of that. So happy to know we have that support in place. She used to be a preschool teacher with additional needs kids and she bonded so well with DS1 it was such a relief :)
My MW is away at the moment so I have my next appointment next week with my secondary MW. It'll be my first time meeting her but I have a good feeling she's going to be great as a lot of people have recommended her to me.
My older two started going to morning summer preschool this morning and they loved it. I'm so happy... having a bit of a break and more chance to rest at this stage is very appreciated! We pulled them from their old preschool 5 months ago and it's been hard sometimes when I get so tired not to have much of a break. My H helps on the weekends obviously but even then, we often get out and about doing family things. Loved going shopping all by myself this morning!

Tegam-All good here, getting concerned I really haven't got myself 'in the zone' yet so I'm really trying to set aside some time each day to do some reading or just connecting with bubs. Bit tricky with other kiddos. I haven't got anything ready for the birth either, at this stage last time I had everything ready to go, so I need to get myself organised I think.
I am feeling massive! Cant believe I still have 7 weeks of growing to do :o
Thanks meow :). I'm so glad your doula seems to be working out. She will be such a massive help for you. Glad you are getting a bit of break with your older two at summer pre-school.
I still can't believe I'm next up! I am so very much in denial about how soon this is all happening!
I have mostly been feeling good - I can't believe how much energy I still have for 38 weeks pregnant! However, I think I may be overdoing it a bit. Today I am completely wrecked and wishing I could go back to bed. I really need to make sure I am taking it a bit easier from now on - I need lots of energy for the birth!
And speaking of the birth, my midwife comes on Thursday, and is bringing the birth pool for us! Finally I can set up my birth space, and maybe then I'll feel like this is actually happening!
I am really struggling to get into the right mind space. I am doing a lot of reading of positive birth stories, watching birth videos, etc, but I just can't seem to get there. I have fleeting moments of feeling like I could be in a good birthy zone, but mostly I'm not. I think it's harder with the older two around.
I also find myself obsessing about the baby's position. I don't know why - bubba is head down, but mostly on the right, and seems pretty content to stay there despite my best efforts. DD wasn't in an ideal position when I laboured with her, but she did move around in labour and I birthed her fine. Why shouldn't this bubba!?
Anyway, I am definitely getting to the over-it stage, and am very much looking forward to meeting my little bubba.
I feel pretty massive too lady-bug! I'm like "this baby isn't going to grow MORE is it??" :lol:
Will be so good to have the birth pool Sterla. I wonder if you're obsessed with positioning just as a way of having something to control? Perhaps time to release and surrender?
I'm having to clean.... And not in a fun sort of nesting way... My inlaws are painful and coming for a four day weekend. DH is still away so I'm on my own. I'm trying to see it as a pre nesting clean, but I don't want to be doing the boring stuff I want to be washing nappies and baby clothes, putting the pram back together after I washed all the bits. Boohoo to me :)
My belly is bigger now than I have ever been. Even at term. I'm a totally different shape.... It's weird. I have lwelcomed leg cramps and reflux, some kankles this past week.
Meow. The doula sounds like a mum when your mum can't be there, I'm so glad you have some good support now.

I think you might be right meow. I wouldn't say I'm a control freak, but I am used to being organised and prepared and there is so much you can't control with pregnancy and birth. As it is, bubba has now turned fully posterior I think...
I have been texting a friend all morning, and she reminded me (again) that my labour with DD was posterior. It took awhile for things to get going, but she did turn and come out just fine! I've done it before, I can do it again! I also received a package from this same friend today - a birthing necklace she had when she had her last DD. Such a beautiful thought, and of course it = blubbering pregnant woman.
I have booked in for a chiro appointment next week - my first ever one, to hopefully help with anything that needs adjusting for a smooth birth. Even if I can just get some relief from my aching hip it will be worth it.
I have also booked myself in for a pedicure and a haircut over the next few days, and then I am away over the weekend with my mum's group - one last kid-free weekend of relaxation before bubba comes.

There is so much we can't control and I completely understand that desire to be able to steer the ship more than we can. Sounds like you're doing some great relaxing and have excellent support to get you into the right headspace. Perfection is in the imperfections, posterior or anterior or any other variation this will be a beautiful birth and you can do it xx
Okay, so I know I should know and not be surprised but... I just watched What To Expect When You're Expecting and the birth scenes!!!! Argh!!
Bella; thank you so much for sharing your video with me - I watched it twice and it cemented my belief that I absolutely need to make sure I get the birth I want this time. You looked absolutely in your element having your little lad and I love that his sisters were there to see him make his grand entrance!
So Ive got a tentative spot at the KEMH birth centre. Im hoping I can bring DH around to either the public homebirth program OR a private homebirth. Im really still not feeling entirely 100% with the birth centre BUT its better than any other option (aside from homebirth) so for now I'll roll with it. Can always change my mind when we get to perth, I'll only be 14wks.
I haven't seen it meow, but I can imagine it would be pretty bad!
That's great news Freya. I agree, wasn't Bella's video amazing :).
I saw my midwife this afternoon and she brought the birth pool with her! We can now make sure we're all set for the birth, then we are all ready to go!
I had a lovely chat with my midwife about all the stuff I've been worrying about, and I am feeling much better.
I just want to have my weekend away and a last dinner date with hubby, then I am well and truly ready for bub to make his/her a appearance!
39 weeks today! Just a few last minute things to do, but basically I am ready for this baby to come... sort of. I still can't wrap my head around how close it is!
Just thought I would pop in and see how you were all doing. Sooooo much to catch up on.
I'm looking forward to seeing all the birth announcements and reading all the birth stories.
DD is now 9 weeks old, they grow far to quickly. I'm already thinking about baby number 4 lol.

My app says i have 62 days left! Get out of town! Work is becoming a nightmare. The other staff are as lovely as they can be but when there is an emergency (which i guess happens more often seeing i work in an emergency department LOL) then its all hands on deck and no time t be pregnant! I only think i have two weeks left in me!
