Congratulations kelbel! I'm so sorry that she is sick tho. How unbelievably scary! Glad we have wonderful nicu's at times like that, but I hope she doesn't need them for long. Xx

Congratulations kellbell! It sounds like a great birth... speedy if you were next to the pool?

But I'm so sorry she wasn't well and had to transfer to nicu. Must have been so scary. I'm glad she's stable and I hope she's back home again soon.

Yeah I laboured in water the whole time was awesome
Loved my hypobirthing music and moving around . Our hot water ran out so hubby was filling the pool with pots
Kids woke up just as she was born so beautiful .
She dipped her heart rate at the end so midwife wanted me to squat outside the pool
She hit the perineum and was out in 30 seconds 2nd contraction out off the water!
Breast fed like a champ and we were all snuggled up in bed when she got sick
Midwife stayed with us till 8pm last night - she was such a support .
Her Name is A.melia M.ichelle

What a wonderful welcome into the world you were able to give little A.melia. My heart breaks that she is struggling so much now. Thinking of her and you too mama. Please keep us updated whenever you have the chance. Be strong A.melia xxx

Doing better we still can't hold her and she's heavily sedated but on the improve !

I'm glad she's improving

So glad to hear she's improving. Do they know what's wrong with her yet?

They arnt really sure , they think she just didn't adjust her circulation from womb to life properly
She couldn't get blood through her lungs . Then she got herself in a real state of distress
The fact she was in a big hurry to be born didn't help her either !
It's a slow road back as she was so cricitally unwell
Either that or infection but she was in her bag of waters till 3.00 pm & born at 6.30
Will write out her birth story soon

Kellbell. Must have been quiet scary! Sorry you have had to experience any of this. Best thing I've learnt from being a nicu and emergency nurse is that babies get sick quick, but they get well again just as quick
