Baby boy born this morning at 5.20am -Z.en is his name - long long long labour, first inkling to placenta about 36 hours! This was due to positioning, and I learnt many lessons in patience and surrender.

Oh wow! Congrats ep and phyreply! Well done mammas! So nice to log in and see you great news. I notice tegam hasn't been in for a few days. Dare we start to stalk? I can't see your ticket tegam, but from your comments, I can only assume you are hanging out to birth this baby of yours. Many, many blessings sweet mamma. I hope that this birth is everything you could hope for.
Afm, well it was a fluke and a once off. We are doing literally everything to try to help Eddie with his pain. I'm talking chiro and water before feeds, to losec and panadol, not forgetting regular leg pumping and lots of time upright after a feed, plus of course I have eliminated everything fun to eat! I do it all. He often has times when he is good, and then he will revert back. I am hoping the losec will really help him. Actually I hope anything will help him. So sad to see my baby distressed the way he gets. Also I think sometimes I am so tired when he wakes that I fall asleep with him upright at the breast and then don't put him back down in a way that is helpful for him to go to sleep. So he wakes up, and then I am screwed. Dh had some time off work this week, cos none of us are coping with colds on top of the sleep deprivation. We are just falling apart atm. But I really really hope it will pass soon. Fx for me.
Congratulations to all the mummas holding their brand new bubbas! Such wonderful news!
Congratulations e_p!
Bella, if i fed ds lying down, and didnt move him after the feed, he often slept ok. if i moved him, and he woke, we were stuffed for hours.
Oh bella i had so hoped for you that it was the start of something good. Is it now that i tell you the DD3 Miss 3 didn't sleep until she was 2yrs old. We did a hair follicle test to find out what she was intolerant too! Within a few weeks there was an improvement and after 3 months she was a different child. I will be paying for the test much sooner if this child goes down the same path!
Yes I'm next :) But don't start stalking just yet, there is NO movement at the station yet. I have had three bad nights of BH but thats not unusual for me nearer the end. Come monday it will be my longest pregnancy. WHo in gods name would make you be the longest the 5th time…. i have no idea but seems mean and male :) Im doing ok but would just love a cuddle and a kiss and to know what the sex is. We still don't have any names we like… scary. My MW seemed so positive that id have the baby this week….. see her again monday, she booked it as a post natal appointment but I'm not liking my chances :)
Congrats e_p and phyrephly!! Can't wait to hear all about the births when you get time. ;)
Bella - that sounds so tough. *hugs*
Tegam - stalking!
Stalking you anyway Tegam! Maybe this weekend...
And any day for you too kellbell!! How are you feeling?
Bella I hope something, anything, works soon too! Perhaps probiotics? We're about to start our little one on sauerkraut juice, just a drop on the end of my finger everyday.
I'm here , no baby yet . I had a rough day yesterday I've always been induced by now this is all new to me this waiting game
But after reqding what another sep mum is going through being induced it bough me back to reality ! And my midwife is keeping me focused
Can I ask what your plug looks like ? I think i lost some last night . Getting random runs of braxton a hicks nothing regular though
I just am so excited to meet this baby I feel so deeply connected to
Def lots of lessons still to be learnt on this journey esp patience !
Congrats on all the new babies :-)
Certainly a good reality check this morning wasn't or kellbell. So much our bubs can teach us too :) I've only ever lost a bit of plug, just a clump of mucus... Hasn't stopped me for searching for one every toilet trip lol
Yes def bought back all the reasons I never want to be induced again it has such an flow on effect
As well afterwoods when your that tired .
So I told my baby this morning to come when your ready
TMI - it's looked like a big snot ball no blood . I think i did a little dance in the loo
Labour dosent feel close though just a good sign I hope my body is working
My plug looks like that too but I've always had blood too and labour starts straight after.
Of the 13 people in our due group there were only 3 spontaneous labours. Inductions are very common it seems!
Oh about 10 friends I've talked to in the last week none of them have had their waters break on their own!! And all consider they had a natural birth....
I WANT my waters to break PLEASE
Hey Bella, just saw your post while I was in here stalking some of my buddies. Not sure if this could work for you, but my mum swears by drinking fennel and caraway tea (old german remedy for colicky babies). It helps soothe the belly and release all the trapped gas. Just to clarify, mum drinks the tea! Bub just gets to share through the breast milk. It can be hard finding that tea here in Australia, but I just bought plain fennel tea (or a fennel tea mix, like a belly soother) and then add a tea spoon of caraway seeds to the cup. Steep, strain and drink.
Like I said, it may or may not work, but sometimes you're ready to try anything to help bubby.
That's a good idea. The lady I buy pregnancy and baby herbs from makes a tummy tea for mamas to drink for unsettled babies and it has "Anise Seed, Fennel Seed, Dill Weed & Seed, Catnip and Chamomile"
I am loving No vaginal exams , no Interventions it's bliss ! Im happy no one will be breaking my waters :-)
I guess it's just the norm these days to be Induced it seems crazy
Apparently a lot of babies are born on certain days in Australia due to the days they begin inductions
Tegam i spent my entire labour wishing my waters woudl break so speed things up. They broke 20 minutes before zen was born lol :)
Not the news I want Phy ;) DS only broke as his head came out.... DD2 was perfect, they broke at 6am. 9am I got some tightenings and she was born at 11am :) I'll order one labour just like thank you mother earth :)
My waters broke as baby was born every time. 1st & 3rd baby the waters bulged out and broke as the head came out (almost in-the-caul babies) and 2nd baby the waters broke while pushing, about 15mins before birth.
Be cool to see a baby born in the caul !
Kellbell, with DD2 I lost my plug as labour was starting - it looked like a big ball of snot with light streaks of blood.
Tegam - waters broke about half way through with DD2. I felt a pop and instant relief of pressure. DD3's birth was bizarre - no plug that I saw and waters must have come out behind her at birth. So nearly born in the caul. My m/w on the ph was a bit concerned she would have to coach us as we freebirthed a baby in the caul. I'd never heard of another birth without waters breaking or baby in the caul before that. But nothing about DD3's birth was predictable!
I actually get a bit nervous when I hear ppl casually mentioning having their waters broken. Why? There are risks with it and it's completely unnecessary! I don't understand why you'd mess with something when there's no need. I would not do well in hospital now. Lol And as for vaginal exams... I have three children and the only exams from birth were to check the peri afterwards. I feel like politely declining that if there's a next time too. I get why it's done, but I haven't torn so far and I HATE that check!
Goes to show that even our speedy freebirthed babies can shoot out without waters having already broken!
I've never had an internal exam in labour either but I tore and was stitched after my first birth and the experience left me traumatised. So, second birth I couldn't handle having a check for tears. We ended up leaving it but I still wanted to know how much I had torn (we knew I had torn but didn't know how 'serious' it was). So the next day my MW guided where she needed to look and had me do the touching and she just looked. So I told my MW for this birth that I wanted to do that again and it worked well.
Whatever was happening stopped - got a sick 3yo now so smart baby probably decided its safer in there :-)
Midwife coming tommorow but got a few weeks left in me I think
hello girls!
waters...my first and third broke well before labour and me second broke and labour started immediately. and i agree...it gives me chills when i hear of peeps having waters broken....all i can think of is malposition and the lack of room for bubs to wiggle into a better spot.
just watched the horror that is OBEM...the US version...does anyone else watch that and find it really weird how they are all labouring with epis? basically it is a show watching prone women on beds with relatives watching on. so weird! and to think that for all these people that is birth for them: that is their birth story. and that's their 'normal' birth. i find it so disconcerting. pushing on my back with feet in stirrups just looks like too much hard work
Midwife had to cancel appointment today, she is at hospital with the lady in labour that she promised me id go first! Most pregnant i have ever been. Feels surreal, just like every other part of this pregnancy, very odd to have it so different to all my other babies. DD2 would be almost 3 weeks old now…. Im crazy sore in the hips but even that i think is because I'm over it not actually that bad if you get what i mean. I really feel no different to when i was 32weeks. Do you think this baby is ever going to come?
I knew if I transferred to a hospital here they weren't getting me on a bed like that but I asked my MW if they would want me to wear a gown and she said yes, and it would be another thing that would really bother them for me to decline and they might try and insist! Ugh. The hospital system here is terrible! Very conformist.
