    Thinking of you meow...

AFM - I finally saw my midwife the other week, which was fab. We both ended up crying over the whole motherhood thing, because she wanted to hear all about my experience with DD (she last saw us when DD was 10 months)...pregnancy hormones hey?

I have so many things about birth to chat to her about, but I am trying to take it one step at a time.

I am feeling so happy and kind of honoured to be in my childbearing years and to be surrounded by such fabulous people. It really means a lot to have you all sharing the journey...

    Geez, I'm so soppy atm...lol

    Hi ladies,

I've got my first meeting with an IM next week, so just jumping in here as I'm sure I'll have lots of questions!!

I'm planning a HBAC after a horrible experience last time, resulting in an unnessesary c/section.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone and picking your brains

Welcome ladybug!!! Very exciting times planning your HB

And exciting times for you too Acadia! Lovely to reconnect with your midwife. I'm super soppy too I'm feeling physically over this pregnancy... tired and sore... but mentally I never want it to end. I don't want this last pregnancy and birth to be over. I don't want to stop seeing my midwives. Arrgghh. Someone freeze time! But then, every niggle and I get so excited and hopeful the baby is on the way because I'm really looking forward to this birth and seeing how this baby arrives.

I'm feeling quite bummed I missed the MN picnic Cassius. Would have loved to have seen you, Marta and my middies! Little E slept right when it was on though and a friend was due to come over. I planned that when I didn't realise it was the same time as the picnic- thought of asking her to come later in the afternoon but decided to stay home... and she was running late so she came after 2pm anyway! Darn it.

Maybe watch the movie while testing out the pool Marcellus!! Enjoy the preparations!

    Hello everyone!!
Hi ladybug, is this your 1st HB? it's my 1st...

Meow: Maybe you've had your bubs by now???

Met5 my hb midwife yesterday, she was so cool stayed 2.5 hrs answered all my questions...looking forward to finally getting a waterbirth!!! Hoping it doesnt come out before we getthe pool set up

Quicj question: what do you guys do with your kids during a homebirth...I know i become easily agitated/ "don't touch" when I'm in labour.....wondering what to do with my tribe. I like the idea of the boys being there, but in reality i think they will distract me/annoy me....mmmmmmm

    anyway gotta run!! xx

    hi girls!

meow: hoping this heat is being gentle on you xx and yeah it was a bummer not to meet you! but that's ok, let sleeping kids sleep i reckon lol.

water_lily: i had DD there for the most of it (she went next door just a few minutes before Marta arrived...baby was in a quicker hurry than we thought lol!). i did loads of prep with her by watching some good HB videos on youtube, i also bought the book 'hello baby' by jennie overend. it was nice to do this together as we all got to see how others birthed with their children there (there's a cute one just posted on BB under 'birth montage general discussion'...someone posted it a few days ago...lovely!). i also had my mum down to help out and keep Leila company.
but that said, once i knew that i was in labour i dont know, all the love hormones were on overdrive and because they werent being interferred with by forms, drs and car rides to hospital i was all soppy and lovey and wanting all my special people around. Leila was great! she helped rub my back and helped DH fill the birth pool lol!
the midwives are also fantastic with the kids. i also found that there were times where DD just went off and played as she normally would (i laboured during the day) and would come in for cuddles etc now and then...although reading her a story when contractions were on was a bit funny lol...but she was patient

Marc: i second Meow on that one...watch the movie in the birth pool..ahhh bliss!

I'm still here... think Marcellus will have her baby before this one decides to budge When in December are you due Marc?

We're planning on having our son around during labour in much the same way Cassius had her daughter there. We have my aunty lined up to come over and supervise him whenever he's not with my H and I- read, watch TV, play outside etc. I'm hoping for him to come and go- I can't imagine he'll want to hang around for the entire labour. Hopefully he'll be there for the birth, otherwise at least come and meet baby very soon after. We read Hello Baby and have watched a couple of you tube clips... do you have any saved you could link me to Cassius? Would love to find more good ones.

Nah, I'm not due till 11th, your little one will be here before then Meow.

We plan to have DS around for the birth and would like him to see his sibling born, or at least meet soon afterwards. It'll depend on the time of day etc, though. Mum is coming to keep him occupied during the labour - I think it might get a bit boring for him and not sure we'll want the constant narration or 'help'.

Hmm, well maybe if my parents take DS for another sleepover this week we can do a proper trial run with the pool and watch the dvd.

    Trial run sounds lovely Marcellus!

Meow: Arimeh asked about you on FB the other day, i said you were still here!!

Well after another crap appointment on friday, and scan and then another appointment today...... My inducement date has been set for Monday 13th December!! They expect within an hour of waters broken ill have baby in my arms. Another scan i two weeks, if thats not ok ill be induced earlier... You all know me, im totally out of my mind with the pros and cons of it all and there is NOTHING certain about me going ahead with the AROM on the 13th! eeck i dont even like the sound of the date!

Feeling rather sick, stressed and emotional about it all! Wishing i had a cristal ball to know if baby is better off on the inside or not! Poor little skinny runt that it is at the moment!

Wouldnt it be just perfect if baby happened to come at home before all this but at 36+2 i think even with my history its wishful thinking!
