Well DP said last night if it wasn't for the fact he'd like a gap again and that will put him over 40, then he'd have another baby. He asked me if I'd have another when I was 38 and I said I absolutely would! Fertility is different for every woman and I was keen to have DD2 before 35 in case DD1's conception was a fluke. Since we fell pg literally first (and only) try with DD2 I'm fairly confident of a healthy baby at 38. So he's making the right noises and we'll just have to see where we are at in a few years.

So exciting that May is just around the corner! My sister is having her first baby in May too, so I'm counting down with the May mummas. Do you all have anything left to prepare?

Yay Jennifer!! I have no qualms having a baby up to (and even a few years over really) 40. My mum had her 3rd baby (and first home birth) at 40. Two of her sisters had their first babies over 35, one had her children at 38 & 41. I don't see it as a big deal. I'm aware that over 40 usually gets treated as "high risk" but I've even seen some places calling over 35 "high risk"! Sheesh! I'm 36 now and would most likely have my next baby at 38 or 39.

I haven't got my supply list from my midwife yet, but I think I've got the basics under control. Baby clothes are washed and ready to go, cradle is set up, infant car seat is ready, lots of baking and meals in the freezer.... Hmmmm.... I think I need to get some sea salt for the herbal bath and a container for the placenta yet. (Guess I'll have to go get some ice cream. )
Feeling a little PMS-ish today, and noticing more BH contractions. Starting the slow wind-up, I guess! DS and DD4 were both two weeks early, so I guess I could be having this baby in 2 1/2 weeks, potentially!

I agree, 40+ is fine for me in terms of having babies, and part of me wonders what life would have been like had I waited til then and gotten some more traveling and a career out of the way first. Having said that, there are benefits of being a younger parent too. There are plus sides and draw backs whichever way I look at it, it's so subjective though.

Cricket I wonder if your bub will follow the trend of his/her siblings and come a little earlier than the EDD. My trend is 42+ weeks so I'm not particularly crossing my fingers for a repeat however what will be will be! I try not to wish away the pregnancy even towards the end when I'm cranky, uncomfy & anxious to meet my little bundle.... I'm blessed to have the experience at all when many are unable.

If anyone's still cooking up a storm for the freezer of for friends blessingways this website has some awesome freezer-friendly recipe ideas:
