Just a word of warning, you may just get a rote reply from the Minister. They may deem it a subject that requires a proper response from a specific area of the Dept which they will send to the specific area for response, but then again it may not be. If they don't then you'll get a stock standard response.
Also you could be waiting a while for a response, turn around is supposed to be less than a month, but if the correspondence area is busy, it could be a longer wait. I know that I was responding to letters (both specialised responses and stock standard ones) up to 8 weeks after it was received into the office. Yes wheels turn slowly.
I'd also probably send one to your local member of parliament as well, they will probably forward it onto the Minister.
