    Oooh, this is promising...

I just wrote a massive post but my computer overheated and turned off as I hit post! Here goes again (much shorter this time)...

As some of you may know, I'm hoping to get into Sunshine hospital's homebirth program for this little one. I'm not completely sure I'll get in, considering I live much closer to the Northern Hospital and it's a little bit of a drive to Sunshine.

BUT! I just read an article from June about the program, and it's given me quite a bit of confidence. You know how in a lot of stories like this, they put in a "we did it and it worked/didn't work for us" bit? This one had one of those about a woman who succesfully used the program living in Woodend. Woodend is about a 45 minute drive to Sunshine in good traffic.

Where I live is about 25 minutes away from Sunshine. I may just be getting my homebirth!

I saw that too. I think I'd be closer than Woodend (on the ring road) but I had already booked an IM when I saw that. I think I prefer the control of having an IM. I was so worried about being bumped from the birth centre last time and I want to be able to know that I'm having this HB unless I really actually do need to transfer.

Good luck getting in- let us know how you go! I think its great to have publicly funded HBs!!! There needs to be more of them so showing support for the system will hopefully increase its popularity in more hospitals

Oooh that's exciting news Teni, I hope it works out for you. DD was meant to be born at home and I was so looking forward to the journey, she just decided to appear a wee bit early!

Yay, awesome news! Hmm, I might have to go and calculate how far *I* am from Sunshine, just in case lol

    ETA: I'ts like 12km's and 18 mins

ETA (again lol): My just in case was meant as in, just in case *I* get utd, not just in case you need to transfer...it kinda reads like that but NOT how I meant it

What i want to know is what they say is low risk. Not going to be able to refuse GD testing, Strep B testing, in this case are we...
I am excited for you Teni!!
