a very big woo hoo for my area!

I'm so excited!! I just have to put it somewhere, so thought here, but currently where I live there is ONE independent midwife who does this area, and she lives 4 hours away and has been known to miss births. plus I know her professionally, so basically homebirth wasn't an option at all for me when having Spock.
our local news actually did a story on the lack of options for women the other day (Spock and I were centred in the story and interviewed), so its great people are becoming aware it is an issue.
But, I got informed today by a friend that there is an independent midwife moving into the area!! only 1 1/2 hrs from my house!! I'm so excited. we havent started TTC number 2 yet, but I was already freaking out on what my options would be to give birth, (or lack of) as going 270km away to get continuity like I did for Spock won't be an option for number 2 because my folks wont be there when I need them.

YAY!! I'm so excited. I really hope it works out, not just for me, but for every other women in this area it gives them another option =)

another bonus, not just for me and my babies, is also the potential to be a independent midwife myself. because we need them here!
