Implanon question

Hello

I got the implanon put in the day after Tristan was born, roughly 3.5 weeks ago. And I've noticed in the past couple of days it seems to have moved down my arm... not by much but still enough for me to ask.

Should it be able to move?

I had mine inserted a bit over a year ago and it's slightly lower than where it was inserted. I think it's normal for them to move a little, but you should still always be able to feel it. If you can't feel it then you should go and see a health care provider who is qualified to insert/remove them. (not all doctors are qualified for this)

Agree with what Daniellabella said - mine (FWIW I had two over a six year period) always ended up a bit further down from where they started but they only tended to move in the first 6-8 weeks after that they were fairly stable in their location.

So long as you can feel it (the entire rod) under your arm you should be right but it doesn't hurt to have it checked out if you are concerned by how much it has moved.

I have my 6 week check booked in so it can wait till then, and I'll just get the dr to feel it for me

dont get me started! LOL i got mine put in and couldnt feel it at all! had to have an ultrasound to confirm that it was in there, it was and apparantly it is working even though it is in a bit deeper than it is supposed to be. it was such a stuff around!
