I was induced. Went into the hospital the night before to have the fist lot of gel applied to my cervix then a second application about 530am. My Dr came and broke my waters at 730am (which didn't hurt) and inserted the drip. from that point on I was in so much paaaiiinn!!!!. I tolerated it for about 30 mins, the midwife then suggested i try the shower as the hot water is meant to help ease the pain - YEAH RIGHT!!!! I could bearly stand up in the shower. I gave up on that idea after no more than 2 minutes. She then suggested i try the gas...I was in that much pain that the last thing I could do was concentrate on sucking in the Gas. By this stage i needed the Epidural. We informed the mid-wife and what seemed like an eternity (well it was actually cause the Anethisist was busy elsewhere). After prehaps an hour the Anethesist arrived and finally the pain disappeared!!! I was so peaceful and even rang my dad and had a nice chat.
Not sure I would ever want to be induced again but am a definate fan of the epidural!!!!!!!!!!
