    I think he is weaning

Well I think DS is weaning . We have been down to just a morning breastfeed for a little while now and over the last week or so he has shown less and less interest. This morning he had a couple of sucks on just one side and then didn't want any more.

We have gone through so much to get to this point, attachment issues, VERY cracked nipples and formula top up's. My goal before he was born was 6 months then it changed to 12 months then I always said I would stop when HE was ready.

I am very happy and proud of myself for getting this far, but I am still a little sad that it has come to an end. The positive is though that I can have my body back for a little while before we start TTC in the new year.

Sorry for rambling I just wanted to get it all out.

It is possible he'll go for a little while longer - my second DS had me convinced he was self-weaning for about 3 months before he actually stopped. But even if this is it, well done to you for getting past two goals. I do know how you feel, both my DS's self-weaned before I was ready. But it does feel good to know they picked their own time. All the best hun.

Katie, I just wanted to pop in and give you a big big !! I think you have done marvellously well and I know how gruelling it was for you in the early weeks so you're right to feel really proud and pleased that your lactation has lasted this far!

well done katie - what a journey you have been on with Logan and it has been so special... so many more mum and bub bonds to form and you should be so proud of yourself!
