Well done Shanti - your breastfeeding journey is truly an amazing one and such an inspiration to so many of us!

I know exactly what you mean about being a little sad, but also feeling joy at what you've achieved - mixed emotions, but ultimately a happy conclusion to a beautiful 22 months!

I don't know how long she'll keep asking for it - DS kept asking for booby after my milk had gone for a few weeks, and gradually he asked less and less, and eventually just stopped altogether.

Well done Shanti . You should be very proud! (must be the day for weaning stories ).

Congrats Shanti!! Such a great achievement!!

I don't know the answer to your question though... She might just slowly ask less and less... Or else it could go the other way and she could not end up weaning, lol. When I had hardly any milk (because of pg too) DD was the same, just having really short feeds and not even asking for it except to get her to sleep, but then I got colostrum and she's gone back to having longer feeds and insisting on having a morning feed again when she wasn't fussed before. So I have no idea!!

Well done on feeding for so long, I'm sure it's contributed to her being the smart, happy little girl she is!!

Thanks Heaven! I wondered that myself..... perhaps she will try and take milk out again once my colostrum kicks in....? so I'll keep letting her suck anyway even if it is a bit uncomfortable, it's not for long each time anyway.

It's sad but I have another baby to BF on the way that I can look forward to also

Thanks Sterla, I'm so proud of you too! We have both done so well....and you did it even after that MCHN told you you couldn't !!! woohoo!!
It sure is a mixed emotions thing huh??? I think no matter how long you feed them for, that's just part of it all isn't it..... very happy times but also a bit sad as it means they're growing up and that 'part' of our bonding is no longer.... until she stops asking I'll keep giving it to her anyway as long as she wants to suck until like you said your DS did, she just stops one day I guess? but yeah I can't really call it BF'ing anymore as there is no milk.

I read your story and it prompted me to write mine had to be in the right head space for it. It's good to know you're going through the same thing as me now
