Going furniture shopping tonight or on the weekend. Have to get a change table, cot and chest of draws. Lots of other lill things that we have to get aswell. Anyway just thought I'd pop in and say HI
Welcome back Nina!!!! I wondered where you disappeared to, i thought maybe you'd gone and done something crazy, like had your baby... but then i remembered you were moving... :D
Yes, still pregnant, much to my dismay... still have my fingers crossed for this weekend ;)
My grandparents - my lift to the hossy - are going away tonight - and i dont really have a back up plan, so we're pretty much dead set sure it'll happen because they're not here! Rofl .
Ahh, i can dream...
Hi everyone, hope you are ok. I won't stick around for long, I have a bit of a flu....
Ashlea, hope that you pop your bub out soon! Get him outta there!! We wanna meet him too :D

YAY Jess, welcome back and congrats!!
My nursery is looking like a nursery!! All i need is a bub hehe.
Hope your all well and had a good valentines day!
Nina- great to see you back. I have a 3 week old baby girl now :D
I have some news but not sure whether i should say anything just yet, but i'll just say its been a good valentines day.
Happy Valentines day to all
Oh WOW Jo...that's fantastic....3 weeks??? Have I been gone that long? Are you engaged????
Ash: Oh no, would that be ironic!?!?!? Hahaha! Lets just hope it happens when they get back and not before, or is it getting to the stage where you just don't care??
Nina- yeah i think you've been gone about 3 weeks i cant remember how pregnant i was when you went MIA to move. Sophie's going really well, got her weighed yesterday and shes put on 130g on top of her birth weight 3500g and when we left the hospital she was 3320g so the BB juice must be the good stuff as shes put on 310g since Jan 27th. Oh the suspence is killing isnt it..... Ash PM'd me asking the same question last night, she didnt reply so i hope she got to read it and didnt have to rush off to pop her sprog
Chris & I havent done v-day since the 1st one we had together which was 5yrs ago and i was taking the mickey out of him saying he never buys me a v-day pressie anymore and really ribbing him over it my parents are here visiting & 1 of my sisters and then he put a box on the table and said well you wont want this then if i never buy you anything & opened the box then i proceeded to try it on all my fingers and he was shaking his head at me he didnt actually propose im a mind reader (well he thinks i am) so i eventually put it on my ring finger and it was a little tight so he told me which shop he bought it from and i went back there to work out what size it needs to be made to and it'll take about 6 days for them to do it. The lady at the shop was telling me what felt tight on my fingers and was dismissing what i said felt tight as 'but you've never worn a ring on that finger before' so what its still bloody tight. Its a white gold diamond ring, it has diamonds down either side of the centre diamond & the centre diamond looks like a square cut (i dont know the "official" cut name) with 4 squares inside the square if that makes sense.......
its a princess cut diamond :) your ring sounds pretty close to what mine is :D you have a pic? but congrats on the silent engagement but a proposal is a proposal hehe :D
So how did everyone else's man propose?
Thanks Trini for the proper name for the cut of diamond. I've had to have the ring sent away to be re-sized as it was a bit tight on my finger and didnt take a photo of it. But once it comes back i'll be able to take a photo and post for all to see. Thanks, i knew i'd get my ring eventually we've been together 5yrs this September and your right a proposal is a proposal no matter which way he decided to word it
Wow i have missed alot lol
Wow congrats on you're engagment jo you're ring sounds so beautiful
Congrats on the birth on you're bubbs Jess...finally lol he looks just beautiful and peaceful
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
So happy for you and Chris -
and your gorgeous little Sophie of course! ;)
Okay - Jo to answer your MSN query - no i was not awake at 4:22am this morning...
Well i may have been, but this computer is always on, so one of us is nearly always signed in...
I also have a habit of not setting it to away or something other than online...
Am sad and in a bad mood because i had a crap nights sleep last night, have a migraine and baby seems to have dropped four feet since my loooong walk yesterday (I feel like i need something to permanently hold my crotch it's that bad... so i have the funniest looking waddle going on right now, it's amusing to say the least) - and due to this am incredibly uncomfortable, sore, tired and grumpy & not going to Melbourne. Am not happy as was really looking forward to meeting people, especially Sally seeing as there won't be much opportunity with her y'know, actually being from Perth and all :(.
I'll post my proposal story later. It's not in the least bit special ;sounding' (it was to me...:)) - it's a laughable one though ;)
Jess- yeah you've missed a bit of gossip & news ;). Thanks, was completely taken by suprise and Chris know i hate suprises which is why he suprises me. It's not a huge ring but its what i would have picked out so Chris either does listen to me when i say what i like or he just knows what i'd like/not like after 5yrs i'd like to hope he has some idea .
Ash- Thanks for the congratulations. OH when you didnt reply to my PM last night and then when i seen you on MSN at 4am i got excited and thought something must have been happening haha. **** you've got 11days until EDD thats gone SO quick. Sorry to hear your in a bad mood & had a crap nights sleep, omg on baby dropping could it be a sign you'll go soon....... bummer that your not going to the meet-up you can stay here and chat with me instead :D am i worthy . Cant wait to read about how Ant proposed
That's GREAT news Jo!!! How exciting!! Did you LOVE the ring? It sounds beautiful.
Well my proposal story is like this,
Joel had been in Afghanistan for 7mths, prior to his going away we had only been together 3mths. One night before he left we were lying in bed (we'd just come home from a night on the town.....drunk) and we were rambling....as you do. Anyway, he said to me..."What if I asked you to marry me?" I was VERY shocked but I said that I would say "YES" once you know, you just know right? Anyway, didn't hear another word of it. Figured in the morning that it was just a drunken spurt of emotion and that he had forgotten that he had even asked me.....thought, the time will come when he would ask again so I just left it. Anyway, he went over to Afghanistan for 7mths and the whole time he was there he kept telling me that he was going to marry me when he gets home and that he couldn't wait to see me. Half way through the deployment he flew me over to Rome and Prague for his R&R (American term, we call it ROCL) and I swear to god that I thought he was going to propose somewhere in Prague, but he bought me a promise ring and promised to one day make it an engagement ring.....
When he got back from Afghan 4mths later we went to Thailand. We had been there nearly 2 weeks and still nothing...... the last night that we were there was our 1yr anniversary and He had organized a candle lit sunset cruise on an old Thai junk boat without telling me. He even had a suit made especially for the occasion. BUT....it had been raining and really windy all day and the tour guide cancelled about 1hr before we had to be there. Joel was NOT happy to say the least!! Mind you, I still had no idea as to what was going on.... In our hotel we had this beautiful poolside restaurant with heaps of tropical plants and hanging flowers all lit by natural candle light, so we decided to have dinner there. Half way through dinner, he got down on one knee and opened a little white box, I started bawling.....inside was the engagement and wedding ring (That I LOVED!!!) that we both had looked at in Sydney together 3 weeks before when we were there visiting his mum! The engagement ring is 18ct white gold with a solitaire diamond in the middle with 5 smaller diamonds down each side of the one in the middle and the wedding ring has all together 12 diamonds the same size as the smaller ones on my engagement ring. They were soooooo beautiful!! I couldn't keep my eyes off them! Then after we had dinner we kicked back with TIGER BEER (My favourite) whilst watching Mouy Thai!!!! It was the BEST night of my life, we had a ball. It was the best ending to an already wicked holiday! I will NEVER forget it! Also forgot to add....the suit that he never got to wear is now the suit that he will be wearing at our wedding, so it all worked out!
Nina- yes love the ring!!, just have to wait a week before i can officially wear it. Oh how romantic your proposal was Nina almost brought a tear to my eye, he might not have done it the 1st time you thought he would but men are unpredictable and seem to love to suprises us and catch us off guard i know i was i even felt a little embarassed as my parents & younger sister are here visiting, Chris & my dad went and played golf together on Sunday now i wonder if he asked for permission or they just played golf, i'll wait until Chris gets home from work and ask him.
Awww...how gorgeous if he did ask your dad for permission! I'll bet your hanging out to wear that ring. it's the best feeling!
awwww thats soo cute & your ring sounds gorgeous :D you got a pic of your ring??
This is my story: It was our 4 year anniversary & i was soo excited as i thought he had a surprise planned but the day came & he pretended not to rememeber so we didnt do anything at all but before we went to sleep he came over my shoulder & said "happy anniversary baby" i went to sleep thinking is that all  but we had just been away for a romantic weekend, so that made it all better :p
Then a week later its like 5am & he woke me up, told me to get my ass out of bed & dress warmly...i was soo tired but followed his orders & then we pulled up at a lake where theres a group of people waiting (i had no idea why people were here) then a safari looking 4WD pulled up with a sign that said "hot air balloons bendigo" so i got all excited & we went on a hot air balloon ride & we were in the air for about 30 mins when he tried to bend on one knee but it was too crowded so he said im very sorry i cant do it right but its too crowded..I just stared at him! then he proposed & i was so excited but paranoid that i would drop my phone over the edge that i was gripping it soo tightly :D
Everyone in the balloon congratulated us & after we packed up the balloon we went for a champagne breakfast by the lake  it was the best day of my life so far
What a cute story trini! Just uploaded a pic of my ring.
it was good once i knew what was happening hehe but thanks! i will try & upload a pic of mine or find a similar one on google ;)

Congratulations on the engagement!! WOOHOO!!
I proposed to my hubby after 11 months of us going out, I decided I couldn't wait for him to pop the question because I knew it wouldn't happen for years!! We married last year on 7/7/07 three years later, and we've been together for just over 4 years now.

Crappy picture, but you can get the gist of it. I haven't got the other side of the ring done yet but I probably will start saving for it after Josie is born. The engagement ring itself is a split band with the the diamonds fashioned in a "flower" shape. The rings are in white gold, I'm not a fan of yellow.
SORRY FOR MY LIKE, REALLY LONG AND DRIBBLY POST. ROFL
Well, maybe some background info first. Anthony had never really been much into getting married or having kids, and he thought 'soulmates' / 'the one' was a load of old tosh. He was really keen on getting his degree finished, and well, originally, was not interested in getting married until he was "i dunno, like thirty or something". So, it was a bit tough when we found out i was pregnant - he obviously decided to stay, but in the beginning he was staying for me, because he didn't want to lose me. He had real trouble connecting with the fact that the baby was going to be a part of his life too. Anyhow, the night i finally said, right well i'm having the baby & he decided to stay - he said to me 'i won't marry you just because you're pregnant' (he figured his parents would want him to, because they're a bit old-fashioned). Well, that statement changed to the more teasing kind over time, where he'd tell me he wouldn't marry me while pregnant because then he'd have to put up with me whinging for sixty years about how awfully fat and puffy i looked in our wedding photos, etc!
It was our six month anniversary when it happened & I was about three months pregnant at the time. We were in bed (yes, this is the picture of class) & only in freaking underwear! We'd spent most of the day just lazing around doing not much - I still had pretty bad morning sickness and i was permanently exhausted! Anyway... after much chit chat about not much (i'm sure you all know what i mean...), i got completely overwhelmed and spouted off on a big romantic lovey-dovey tangent about he special he was(is!!!) etc. I finished my bout of babble with something along the lines of "I know you're it. You just are. There's no doubt in my mind... it just has to be you..." followed by y'know, those chills you get when you're happy and scared and sort of weirded out having made that kind of realisation. And then we just sort of lay there hugging for a while.
Well the hugging turned into him making really awkward faces. He'd look at me, like he was going to say something and then stop, make a frowny face sort of at himself and go back to hugging. this went on for about ten minutes until i started questioning every time he did it. I'd be like "what?" and he'd be like "nothing, can't i just look at you"... classic male excuse... :P
After what was probably another ten minutes or so, i started to get stroppy about it (lol) and so out he comes with - and yes i'm serious - "F#@k it, marry me?".
Hehehe... well i spent the next twenty minutes in denial, either asking if he was serious, or calling him stupid... until finally i asked him to "say it again".
Needless to say, i obviously said yes. He later said that he couldn't not ask. It was just the right time and it just felt right, and he'd have been disappointed in himself if he hadn't of asked. Which i found so much more romantic than if he'd planned it all - it was so much more Anthony-like (and not at the same time!) and that's what made it really special. A couple of weeks later, I found a ring that i liked and we bought it as an 'it'll do in the meantime' engagement ring. Which i CANT WEAR ANYWAY (my fingers started to swell, about ten days afterwards... :cryinglaugh:), but i told him i don't need a ring to show people that he loves me, i know he does and that's all that matters. Anyway after i bought it, i refused to wear it until he did it 'properly'; so he bought all these nice little 'ashy' things home after work one night and we had a picnic and he asked me again, so he could put the ring on and all.
I can honestly say that the first one beat the pants off it - the humour that goes with it is just something that is so very, representing of us - iykwim - anyway, i would not change it for the world - i just sort of dread having to tell the story at my wedding or something one day .
I will get another ring, one day... but my mum has instilled way too picky taste in jewellery and its not something ill get for a few years... Mum's is valued at $14,500 - it's a beautiful marquee cut - and no she did not pay that price - it was on special for $3k. Gotta love Melbourne Cup Day Sales and Thomas Jewellers ;). So apparently Mum's taking him shopping to get a good bargain!
I like yours too Emma! Seems we're all white gold gals in here ;) Trini the picture of the ring you put up is very similar to the one i want to.
wow thats a gorgeous ring :)
