My 4th round of IVF/ISCI, had my EC yesterday. Of the 10 eggs collected, only 1 fertilised. It has happened every cycle, my eggs are bad quality. Pretty devastating.
Anyway, I am trying to stay positive, as I have one! However, I am having a 2 day transfer, which I haven't had before? Has anyone else had one and had a BFP? Just worried by not going to day 3 or 5 my chances are less?

We did 5 transfers all up (4 fresh, 1 FET) - 3x 2dt and 2x 3dt. One of the day 3 transfers was on a Monday (they don't work Sunday, otherwise it would have been a 2dt) and the other was a FET (embryo frozen day 2).
Our successful cycle was a 2dt. We only had 2 embryos that cycle.
My clinic always aims for 5dt, but if there are not many fertilized eggs, they feel that they have a much better chance in than out, so prefer to t/f asap. Waiting til day 5 is all about picking the best of a large selection. if there aren't many to start with, there's no benefit in growing them on that long. I had only 3 eggs collected, and while all 3 fertilized, one didn't really develop well, and they were very keen to do a transfer on day 3 as a result. I had 2 embryos transferred, and had 2 heartbeats at 7 weeks, but only one by 9 weeks. All's still well with that one now, at 24 weeks.
My understanding is that they have a better chance inside you than in a laboratory. So if you've only got 1 egg, then definitely a 2 day transfer is your best bet!
Like Pholi said, growing them to 3 or 5 days is a strategy to use when you've got multiple eggs and you want to see whih will be viable.
